It’s that “LOVE” day today and how will you be sharing your love?
I really had all intentions of posting this right after I threw my Galentines parties last week, but dang, real life just keeps getting in the way, haha. But hopefully this will be my way of sharing some love with all of you wonderful readers.
One of my favorite ways of sharing love is by throwing parties in my home and what better way to celebrate the week of love than to throw a Galentines party (or two).
And when you throw one, I can promise it turns out to be just like the ‘Parks and Rec” episode said, “the only the best day of the year”. It’s truly the time where girlfriends celebrate girlfriends.
I make sure to send out invites a few weeks in advance (with the number of gal-pals attending) so everyone will have plenty of time to make their valentines, since part of the fun is the exchanging of valentines.
It’s also my excuse to decorate my home for this holiday of love.
This year I kept with the traditional colors of Reds, Pinks, and White. Since purchasing my new (huge) dining room table, I realized most of my table linens don’t fit so I headed to a fabric store and bought pink felt as a liner and then this fun white lacy material as a tablecloth.
I used a mixture of pink and red plates and goblets.
I found these beautiful glass heart plates that came in packages of four so I purchased a few sets in both red and pink and filled them with chocolates and personalized name tags. This added perfectly the to table decor and was a fun party favor as well.
For the table scape, I just did my usual of going through my stash and pulling objects that matched with the color scheme. My invites this year said “life is so much better with chocolates, flowers, and girlfriends” so I used lots and lots of fresh flowers and threw chocolates around the table as well. Easy and fun. . .
But as always the best part of valentines and a Galentines Party is the exchange part. When the gals first arrive I have them place their treats on a few tables I’ve cleared for this purpose in mind. Can you believe what incredible treats were waiting for each of us?
And then after dinner or lunch or whatever you decide to have, we take turns passing our valentines to one another.
This is what the table looked like afterwards!!!
I have to admit, one of my most favorite times is when everyone has left and I have my home to myself and I quietly and carefully read through each and every treasure I was given from my wonderful GalPal’s. It’s a true reminding of the beauty and joy you get by SHARING love.
Have a most treasured LOVE day today and remember to go share some.
Love you all,
Trina

What a wonderful party!
Looks like everyone puts lots of effort into their gifts which is wonderful since you put so much effort into your tables cape and planning.
