Are you a goal setter?
I have to admit, I’m one of those. I thoroughly enjoy sitting down and at least “thinking” about new goals to set. Do I write them all down . . . well, that would make them all too serious and overwhelming in my book. I simply think about some for a day or so and then I jot a few down each month, the ones I know I can accomplish. See, I’m also the kind of person who likes to find success along the way.
What did I write down for January?
*To get my creative mojo back in the flow . . . this includes my love for creative dressing. I’ve been a bit overwhelmed in life the past few months and it’s the first time I can ever remember when getting dressed for the day (at least the days I am going out and about) was more of a chore or habit and not a fun creative outlet.
*This also includes redecorating my home and having fun with it, after all, I did talk hubby into buying the beautiful dining room table and buffet I’ve been eyeing for the past two years.
*Beginning Piano again, it’s been years since I actually sat down and played and I’m so excited to get my hands on those keys again. I have a piano teacher scheduled to come to my home every Wednesday so I have absolutely no excuse!
*Get back to my regular everyday morning scripture reading and then spend time reading a novel as well.
See, how simple those are? Nothing overwhelming, actually just some good, healthy reminders.
My one little word of the year: SHARING
I’ve been choosing a word for the past three years, one that helps keep me focused and motivated. I’ve found that choosing just a word over huge goals is a great way to go. This year my word is Sharing: to give a portion of (something) to another or others; to use, occupy, or enjoy (something) jointly with another or others.
I chose this word to help remind me on a daily basis that the best way to feel JOY in life is to share it with others, along with my time, my talents, service, and love.
So, my friends, here’s to 2018, a year to share more joy, a year to share more time with others, a year to share my gifts and talents with others, a year to share service to others and a year to share love with anyone and everyone I come in contact with.
But most importantly, a year to remembering we don’t have to be perfect we just need to live each day a little better than the day before.

and since I’m trying to get that creative mojo going again I’m joining Judith for her January hat attack.

I love the sweater. Great combination with the beret and scarf. Wish I could join Judith too but me and hats… it never worked.

You are a sight for sore eyes, Trina, all this fabulous colour. Mwah! I like your idea of choosing a word. Sharing is a good one. I have been thinking about friendship a lot and maybe my word would stem from that. I don’t do the resolution thing, but I feel comfort reading yours! That’s sharing, right? Happy New Year!! xox
