It’s Sunday and for me that mean’s dressing up . . .
If you’ve been following my blog for any amount of time you most likely know that on any given sunday you’ll find me dressed up. I’m still one of those old fashion thinkers that believe you should dress your best for church service. And since I don’t really need to dress up during the week days I actually look forward to this day.
With summer quickly coming to an end it makes us want to say goodbye to our fun summer wardrobe and yet the weather here is still screaming summer HEAT which makes this a little tricky. So for me, I’m still going to enjoy my summer wardrobe especially if it’s a summer maxi.
Today I decided to add a light weight scarf just for a bit of texture and fall transition. I know it will be the last for this maxi until next year but it was sure fun wearing it for a while. Wait . . . I could easily add a denim jacket into September, right?
And as I said on my instagram, for all you kiddos and parents of school kids, if I could share any advice for the school year it would be to look for the child standing alone at lunch, at recess, in the halls, the kid who looks scared or sad or hungry and reach out to them over and over and over again. A simple smile, a word of encouragement, asking them to join you will and can change their lives, not to mention how much it will change yours as well.

Dear Trina,
Your school year advice touched me deeply, because you are so right. How do I know? I was that child. I had no friends, anywhere. I had no guidance and I was pretty feral. (We seldom lived more than 2 months in one place. But there was one teacher who believed in me, who smiled and was kind and saw my potential. I often thank goodness for her coming to my life to allow me to see inside me and not just whast bullies saw. Briefly as it was, her kindness made all the difference.

Although I like the scarf with the dress, I would have loved to see a picture with just the dress. It is stunning. Great choice of footwear with it.
