I truly love this day, the day I know has decorating my ancestors graves. On this day, the Sunday before Memorial day, I accompany my sweet parents to the cemetery where both sets of grandparents are buried. They like to quiz me to see if I can remember and locate their graves on my own (which I’m usually very good at doing).
I normally buy a bouquet of fresh flowers because that’s what I know my grandma would approve of, after all, I do believe I inherited my love of decorating from the little lady.
I packed along some vases and water bottles to fill once we got there.
It’s always an added bonus to have a lovely sunny day . . .
But the very best part is the couple of hours I get to spend with these two incredible people I get to call mom and dad.
After leaving the cemetery we always take a drive through the neighborhood I gee up in and take a walk down memory lane.
I actually think this day should be called “Hearts Knit Together” because that’s exactly what it does.
It’s truly a day where my heart is knit together with those I love both here on earth and those in Heaven.
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful and memorable Memorial Day!
