What’s a Galentine’s Party you might ask?
For those of you new to this term it’s simply a valentines party with all your girlfriends. And let me tell you, it’s one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday. Since some of us do have a significant other whom we do think of as a valentine, I like to have this fun gathering a few days before February 14th.
I send out a little invite at least a week in advance because we bring valentine’s for each other. This has made Valentines just what it use to be or should be for that matter. A day of showing love to one another. It’s so much fun trying to think of a creative and meaningful valentine to share with all your girlfriends, you know just like when you were a kid.
This year I decided to stick with a pink and gold theme . . . and I love how it turned out.
So sweet and soft and just girly.
For the table setting, I actually played around for an hour or so with different table linens and then decided to pull out this cream one full of sequins (which is actually three yards of material). I then took out my gold rimmed china and layered the dinner and salad plates with pink doilies, how easy is that?
For the table runner I used my cashmere pink scarf, believe me these can work wonders for table runners.
And then as usual I just go through my stash and grab pink and gold items to mix and layer for a table scape. I usually buy some fresh flowers a day or two before and trim and place them throughout. I love lovely a simple cut rose placed inside a tea cup can look. And don’t underestimate the loveliness of carnations, I mean they these flowers are beautiful and smell so good.
On each plate I placed a white chocolate heart filled with strawberry cream inside individually wrapped boxes tied up with ribbons and homemade mini pompoms.
For dinner menu we had a fresh green salad with (grandma Grandinetti’s) homemade dressing, a parmesan cup filled with shrimp cocktail and for the main course we had a pasta bar which consisted of three different pasta’s and three different sauces.
But the best part . . .
The exchange of Valentines. Can I just say, I have some amazingly creative friends.
The time and love they put into the packaging alone is to die for.
(the cookie cutters are the letters LOVE tied together)
If you follow me on instagram you may have seen some of the dinner as well as our story time and maybe caught a glimpse at just how much fun we have we’re together.
And if you missed lasts years party you take a look here.
*On a side note, this is the outfit I wore that evening except while entertaining I wore my gold flats (most the time I run around my home barefoot or with socks so having shoes on at all was a bonus point for me that night).
May you all have a wonderful Valentine’s today!
Really, and I’ve said it many times, you’re the queen of the holidays! Your decorations, your way to beautify the tables, is something wonderful. I have always dreamed of participating in one of your beautiful parties. Your look is absolutely wonderful and delicate, pure softness and elegance, I love it! Your outfit is as beautiful as your decorations.
Thank you so very much! It would be delightful to have you as a guest!
