I was a bit harsh last week in my venting about Miami and after my little tantrum I took a deep breath and remembered it’s all about the attitude in how we enjoy each and every day. So, I did just that, I changed my attitude and began seeing Miami in a different light.
Amazing what a change in attitude will do . . .
For starters I joined hubby in a humanitarian project at the beach where we were assigned to dig up a plant that is taking over the beach and hurting the wild life. It was so much fun being able to see the difference right before your eyes. There were at least 300 volunteers and within 2 hours we had a good 1/2 mile of beach cleared.
Later that evening we attending a big banquet dinner at Wynwood Walls and instead of letting myself get bored the first hour which was cocktail hour (I’m not much into that) I grabbed a paint brush and thoroughly enjoyed myself with this paint-by-number canvas they had set up. Forgot how much fun that could be.
The next morning as I was running on the treadmill (since I didn’t wake up early enough to run on the beach before the heat began) I looked out the huge windows . . . Now that site didn’t look so bad today.
Later we ventured down to South Beach for a nice beach side dinner date, which we don’t get here in Utah.
It was fun to once again wear my linen pants and by adding a long crochet vest, I could give Miami a bit of bohemian vibe as well.
And as the sun began to set, I simply traded the vest for a lightweight pancho.
There is nothing better than watching the sunset on the beach . . .
And I did mention the treats, right???
So glad I remembered to change my attitude.
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a most wonderful day.

Looks like you managed to amuse yourself well enough : )
I’ve never been to Miami. I’ve heard it is very pricey.

Indeed, it is not the event itself but the way we react/act upon it… Very good of you to be able to change your attitude and thanks for sharing. It is a good reminder. As I fully agree.
Love the poncho with the linen trousers…

PS your home might not have a seaside, it is a pretty awesome place naturewise.
Oh and I am still not getting any emails with new post alerts.
Trina, excellent turnaround!! Your ‘tude saved the day. Clearing a beach, painting, seaside dinner… Looks like a great time in the end. I’ll try to think of this example when I’m pissed off with my environment.
