I decided to tag along on one of those work trips, you know just trying to support the hubby’s working habit.
This time I found myself surrounded by hundreds, no more like thousands of others, at the Fountainbleau hotel on Miami Beach. As beautiful and fancy as it may appear its definitely not my thing. First off, me and crowds, well we don’t really like each other. Second, loud obnoxious music blasting poolside is a complete turn off, and third- well I don’t think I’ll even go into that. Needless to say this sunny little beach/poolside get away wasn’t exactly as I had imagined.
I spent the first half of my day in the gym, which was huge, clean, friendly and quiet- everyone else was obviously crowded at the pool, which, by the way, if you don’t have reserved seat by 9:00 am you might as well forget the pool anyways. Then I grabbed a take out lunch and relaxed on the balcony and shelter of my room, haha. By the way, hubby was at a golf meeting and normally I’m fine hanging by myself.
In the late afternoon when he returned we made our way pass the crowded pool for a much needed walk on the beach (yes, crowded also).
But when we found this little dessert bar filled with the most beautiful eye candy and it brought an instant smile to my face.
It’s really the simple, quiet, natural things that make life so enjoyable. Lesson here, I’m just a simple, quiet, gal that enjoys nature and beauty without crowds.

Susan, I just recently purchased it at nordstroms, it’s the La Blanca brand and so comfy. What I liked most about it were all the vibrant colors which I knew would match with numerous swim suits. Plus you could actually go shopping and to lunch or dinner in this at a resort, right? Thanks for dropping by today.

It looks like you made a lovely getaway, following your own heart, Trina! That dessert looks so irresistible too. Thanks for linking and have a wonderful week ahead, xo

Like you, my universe shrinks to just me and the pastry when I find a treat. Sorry to hear about the crowds, but happy you found a satisfying distraction. I love your sun wear and can only imagine how good the heat and light feel after the winter.
Trina says
Yes, the heat does feel wonderful and I’ve now found my quiet places so this getaway is looking much better. Although I’m still a frequent customer at that dessert bar.

Makes me sound so old at times, right?

I detest crowds, especially at resorts or on beaches. I’m glad you were able to find a few spots to relax without all the noise. It really distracts from the whole reason you’re there.
Quite the dessert!

This dessert bar is killing me. And, I’ve actually found some nice quiet hang out places so life in Miami is getting much better.

I don’t like crowds either.
I love your coverup & the dessert looks almost too pretty to eat!
No Fear of Fashion says
I can stand crowds but I get your point. I would probably have gone shopping… again.
You look very cute in your swimsuit and lovely jacket. That pink strawberry thing would have had my full attention as well.

Love the tropical print cover up, the great suit, and your great summer style! The macaroon sandwich, too, takes the cake, sorry- pun intended.
I would do the very same, seek refuge in exercise and quiet, whether in a luxurious room, or outdoors. Crowded and loud, are not for me either!
How fab you look though!
