I travel quite a lot these days and my usual travel attire consists mostly of black and grey combinations. Why is this, you might ask? Well, black and grey are easy to mix and match, I own a lot in these two color combinations, they both hide the bit of dirt you collect while traveling, and they can seem to go from casual to dressy attire by a simple change of shoes. But when we (my hubby and I) decided to take this impromptu get away, I decided to liven things up for a change and go with white.
I’m chalking it up to being sick and tired of winter and was hoping for some sunshine.
Well, the sun is hiding somewhere . . .
And the wind is in full swing . . .
But at least this blazer is warm and comfy . . .
And I needed a change of color and place.
Tomorrow the sun is going to shine, right???
*I did throw in my trusty black leggings and tunics, but the blazer can be worn with those too)
So my fellow traveling friends, are you brave enough to travel with white?
Heading over to Patti’s for visible Monday.

Trina, you look as fresh as a warm spring breeze. White, stripes, chinos…an all round great combination…and perfect for a getaway. I have traveled with white clothing in the past without incident.
And the sun? Well,it’s just got to come out tomorrow!
Oh, thank you Sue. I’m so ready for Spring, I felt dressing for it, mother nature would go along, haha. I’m hoping to make it up your way next month.
I don’t go to NYC with white! But other destinations, this jacket would be perfection – so cheerful. xo

Patti, I would never travel to NYC with either, that’s definitely a black and grey attire no matter what time of year. But seriously can you call in the sun for Florida for a few days, haha.
White although very fresh and bright is not a colour that I personally like to wear very often. Especially close to my face.
I do love your red white and blue here. That scarf is wonderful!
bisous

Smart woman you are to know when to stay away from those colors. it took me forever to figure this out and then to finally hand over all the items in those colors. I’m a bit wiser these days, except for on the occasions I decide to travel with white, haha.
Great blazer! And great outfit! I love a white blazer with a striped top. I don’t have a white blazer at the moment but really want one, but then I thought how easily it gets dirty. But if you can travel with it, maybe I can pull it off…
I just think before I leave, well, I’ll be heading to the dry cleaners when I get home. So far it’s held up very nicely, although I don’t wear it on the plane, that’s for sure. Even if you never use it for traveling, a white blazer makes for a perfect little essential item. I wear mine all the time in the spring and summer evenings.
I tend to stick with black plus another color when I travel so things can be mixed in different combos. I can’t say that I’ve consciously brought white with me since I know it will get dirty and may not have chance at second wear. You need to come to California for sunshine, we had 90s temps today!

Thank you! I just tried to comment on your blog post again, I keep forgetting my login info for disquis so please don’t think I never read your post, I actually never miss them. I just need to redo my password.
No problem, I travel with white. You can wash it, so no problem. But… you wearing this lovely outfit, has given me great (copy) ideas for my new cream/white jacket. I got stuck styling it. And I have a red/white striped sweater. And tan trousers. Tarahhh… copycat is here again. Thank you.

I am so glad you chose white! Love the jacket! Add the stripes and the lovely scarf and I feel the sun is coming out ( however slowly!) Great look! Enjoy your trip!

Oh, I do think White looks beautifully resort-esque, any day of the year, Trina. But you’re right, it CAN become rather irksome to clean after a bit of gallivanting about, which is what getaways are all about, huh? No matter, you look so lovely. And I adore the bright pop of the red and zesty dash of the olive 🙂 happy weekend!!
And please do come join the Project Sister Act Link-Up if you have a second, Trina 🙂
