I’ve heard and seen one of the best winter accessories is faux fur. You know what I’m talking about, faux fur collars, faux fur vest, even a faux fur coat.
Well, I’m here to tell you it works. In the fact that it keeps you warm and cozy and adds a bit of glam to your outfit. See I have this simple red dress that really wanted to make it out of the closet this winter but its not very warm and just by adding a faux fur collar, bravo, it became the warm red dress ready for winter.
Ok, now when I go outdoors in this red dress, the collar is good but seriously? Yea, it definitely needed another layer of warmth. I chose to add my faux leopard print fur coat, and placed the fur collar right on top.
By the way, I recently read (another, yes, another) article telling us 40 and older women what we should and shouldn’t be wearing. Guess what, leopard print was on the should NOT be wearing. Haha, obviously I don’t really care what they think. But if you want to read more of the article my friend Suzanne wrote a great deal about it and has some very entertaining pictures to go along with it here.
As always my friend, thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day.
I’m joining Catherine @notdressedaslamb for her iwillwearwhatiwant series, it just so happens to be about wearing animal prints.
And Nicole for her (little red dress link up party, as well as Alice for TBT and Dawn Lucy.

Thank you Linda and I would love to join in your fun party. Tnanks for the invite.

I LOVE the leopard with the fab faux fur collar! The whole outfit just screams Mrs. Robinson, from the Graduate, one of my all time favourite style icons.
Taking your photos with all that snow makes your outfit pop off the page.
These lists of what we can or cannot wear should all be trashed. I personally think animal prints look better on women over 40. You’ve proven that point very well here.
I’ve been looking for a vintage leopard coat like this for ages…I’m so jealous!
Thanks for the shout-out!
bisous

What a wonderful compliment, I love Mrs Robinson! As for these stupid can and cannot wear articles, well it just gives us something to laugh about. See, we would be fighting the racks if we vintage shopped together, haha.
Andrea@WellnessNotes says
I’ve been wanting to get a faux fur collar for months now… Yours looks fabulous with the pretty dress & the fabulous coat! And the what-not-to-wear-over-40 articles are often quite ridiculous…
Trina says
If you live in a cold climate, you definetely won’t regrett investing in a fur collar.

Look at you, all glamorous in your (faux) furs! You look smashing and I fully expected to see your Bentley idling in the background and your oh-so-handsome driver waiting patiently. And a bottle of bubbly on ice…
Trina says
Yea, where is that Bentley???? Apparently my handsome driver left it behind, haha. Thank you for your kind words, you made my day!
Melanie says
Oh yes – FAUX FUR for the win! You nailed it here – collar, coat, dress, and, oh yes, that Bentley just out of view, no need for modesty among friends, heh. Oh, the collar… Suzanne is right – the snow is the perfect backdrop.
What rules? Where? Hahaha. I’m so happy to be in the same corner with you and Suzanne about those ridiculous rules.
Susan says
Trina, this is a fab look!…love how you re-purpose classic items in your wardrobe…I agree that there is no right or wrong way to establish one’s personal fashion style!…I enjoy following your fashion and home decor ideas !

Very adorable, classic and chic. With an edgy twist. Just how we like it. Funny that Suzanne had a red coat with a leopard bag on her blog. As I said to her: red and leopard is such a good combination. Looking pretty darned good ith this faux fur.

Gorgeous Trina, I love the simple red dress with the furry collar! Super glam, and also pretty. Love the leopard coat, too. Who wrote such a silly rule. I say you can not wear it until you are over 40!
