It’s no secret, especially to those of you who know me, I like to shop. It’s a terrible hobby but one I’m quite good at, just ask my children (and husband). There’s really quite an art to shopping but that’s for a whole other post. Today, I’m going to share one of my other loves, one I picked up when I was a child and fortunately have kept. It’s my love for nature. It didn’t take me long as a young mother to realize my children behaved so much better when I simply took them outdoors and let run and explore their surroundings. And as a mother, you do hope and pray that some life lessons you teach will be carried on or appreciated and possibly used by your children when they grow up. Therefore it made my heart sing with joy when my daughter came for a visit and decided that instead of dragging Molly to the mall for some “girl shopping time”, which usually last for about 30 minutes of happiness,
the best way to spend some quality time would be in nature . . .
So we did just that . . .
We put on some fun birkenstocks . . .
Some spring dresses . . .
And allowed this little one to explore to her hearts content.
The curiosity . . .
(Molly with her great grandmother-my mom)
The excitement . . .
The wonder . . .
was much more magical than any new outfit found at a shopping mall.
I’m feeling truly grateful for this love of nature which ingrained itself so many years ago into my heart . . .
And which continues to fill me with joy each time I walk into a secret garden . . .
or a merry-g0-round filled with flowers . . .
or an open courtyard just waiting to be explored.
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a most wonderful day.
Linking up with Patti for visible Monday.

Thank you Kim. And by the way, I was wearing my wonderful, gorgeous cardigan from you just yesterday and had numerous compliments. I gave out your website to at least four different ladies. Thanks again.

Tina, such beautiful, nostalgic images. My goodness, the tulips are unbelievable! So pretty. I remember as a child being fascinated with the rolly-poly bugs that lived under rocks. Go figure. I’m in love with your dress and adore how you paired this fabulous creation with gold rather than silver. I always tend to wear gray hues with silver. I’ll have to try this.
trinagrandinetti says
Oh, yes the fascination with the ropy-poly little bugs. I use to find them in my daughters pockets, crazy girl.

Thank you Patti, she does bring a smile to my face, almost immediately. She is one extremely happy child.

Thank you, you sweet sweet friend. We do share quite a bit in common, especially the love of being outdoors. Dang, those children of yours, because grandkids are the best! But that will happen when it happens, right?
A Well Styled Life says
Such a precious time to share with your darlings. No outfit could ever fill your heart with such joy. Being out in nature together, exploring and seeing her discover it’s magic, makes memories that will warm your heart for years to come.

This was so nice. I wish I had your love for nature (and a grandchild). Oh well, I have neither. I live nature but am not a great lover. Pity but it is true. And not having had a child means automatically no grand children. Perhaps my stepdaughter will have one…. one day.
It is so funny to see tulips taller than Molly haha.
I love the picture of Tori and Molly at the base of something, where they both look at the same thing (it says “the wonder” above it). Beautiful picture.
Tori looks so much like you, it is amazing.

But you, my friend, have a great love of shopping, and your surrounding, which you so graciously share with us. That’s what makes blogging so much fun and interesting, to see what others are drawn to. It was funny to see the tulips taller than Molly, such lovely flowers, aren’t they? Probably don’t compare to what your use to.

Nothing like seeing the world through a child’s eyes, especially nature. Lovely post – thank you!
