Molly’s (my granddaughter) favorite song is Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”. She instantly begins to clap and dance, which in turn makes all the adults around her do the exact same thing. I don’t think she really understands the meaning or the words yet but the tune alone sends the right message.
Last week this little girl truly found her “Happy Place”.
We took a mini vacation to San Diego . . .
Where she taught us all what Happiness is.
Reminding us the joy of building sandcastles in the sand . . .
The excitement and feel of the ocean water as it hits your toes for the first time . . .
And pulls you toward it over and over again.
The happiness of playing catch on the beach . . .
And pretending to surf . . .
Of relaxing and people watching . . .
And even being normal (can’t live without those phones).
Bonding with Uncle Riley . . .
Riding an old fashioned Merry-go-round . . .
and watching grandma and parents be crazy on the roller coaster.
Eating breakfast at beachfront cafe’s
and ending with dinner at another.
Even meeting up with dear friends . . .
Yes, Tamera Beardsley, my friend I met from blogging and her husband, daughter Ellis and her fiancé Elliot drove down for an afternoon visit.
Gifting Tori and me with one of her handmade bracelets and making us feel truly crowned.
I can easily see why Molly adores this song, clapping along because she knows what happiness is to her, clapping along because she knows happiness is the truth and clapping along because that’s what she wants to do.
Thank you sweet girl for teaching us to clap along as well.

You are so correct, I have been richly blessed with a bounty of love and I’m eternally grateful each day for this. As for the beach wear, ha . . . I do a pretty good job of covering up but thanks for the compliment. I don’t know about all of you, but the older I get the more I have to keep upping those workouts. After spending a month running around with Molly, and carrying her quite a bit, I was glad I have kept up with these.

It truly was a treat for our families to meet. We all have so much in common. Par thinks the world of Jeff and we were all very impressed with Elliot, you are gaining a wonderful son. And, Ellis, I felt as if I had known for ages. Tori and I just keep saying how fun it would be to live closer to one another.
The “Yes Mom I love you”, ha . . . that’s my kid who absolutely hates when I’m taking pictures, so I thought I would help remind him. He’s already called about this one. But it’s good to make them laugh at us once in awhile, right?
Have you thought anymore about the July meet-up in Vancouver?
