I’ve always enjoyed adding a necklace to an outfit as a statement piece but this season I’ve found a new statement piece . . .
A SKIRT!
Sometimes a simple item can speak volumes for itself and for me it was this little number.
When I spotted it at my local anthro (while I was just walking past), I knew I wasn’t leaving downtown with it. Don’t you just love when items practically scream at you?
So far I’ve had a lot of fun styling this little item . . .
I first wore it in the late fall . . .
With a simple tee, leather jacket and flats.
Now that the snow has finally arrived, I’ve switched to booties, a winter white blouse and fur shawl . . .
Or better yet, a clozy oversized sweater.
Next time . . . possibly a denim button down, what are your thoughts?
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful day!
Joining the rest of my friends over at Patti’s for visible Monday.
And also joining Alice for her TBT.

Thank you, I’m truly loving this fun little item. It’s warmer than a pair of pants and so much more comfy.

Love that skirt! And the shawl and the big-sweater. Let’s go inside and have a cappuccino! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xox

A resounding yes to the denim button down…either that or a denim jacket! Seeing this fantastic Anthro boho maxi….I’m recommending you put it under lock and key if Suzanne Carillo pays you a visit…hahaha. Okay…I know you are petite too…and you are rockin’ the maxi skirt! Maybe, just maybe, I’ll give it a go!
trinagrandinetti says
So true about Suzanne and Yes, you do need to try a maxi!
tvonzalez says
I like the winter white blouse with the fur shawl look the best.

This skirt is beautiful on you and I love all the ways you’ve styled it. I love the last look which is always so difficult to achieve with a big sweater without looking oversized.

Thank you Alice, I wouldn’t have tried this look if it hadn’t been for my daughter’s suggestion, but so glad she gave it to me.

I love it. Especially the fall version. Beautiful with the red Tshirt. These are the skirts I could wear with flats and not feel awkward. Although for me it needs to be another type of skirt as I have no hips so I would look like a stick in this one. Really good skirt on you. (The white blouse would not be warm enough for me when it snows. Not even with a fun fur shawl.)

I tend to disagree, I really think you could pull this off even with you no hips.

A great skirt, no wonder it came home with you. Love all your looks but my favourite is the last one.
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Jill, so glad I listened to my daughter’s suggestion to wear it with a sweater, I seriously wouldn’t have thought of this.

Yes, a statement skirt! What a great pattern! Knit? Flannely stuff? No matter … so charming, and you’ll find 50 ways to style it before spring.
Happy New Year, darling Trina. So glad to see you enjoying the winter weather and the holidays with your crew!
trinagrandinetti says
It’s a knit and very giving material, it’s also warm and way comfy so I actually prefer wearing rather than a pair of pants. I beleive its even going for a road trip in a few days, I figured it would be a great travel skirt.
Jeannette says
Dear Trina, That skirt is SUPER adorable!!! I like it very much and the way you styled it, in all three looks, makes it look more amazing. Good job my friend and happy New Year! May the 2015 be filled with lots of love, peace and health. XOXO, Jeannette

Yes, a piece as pretty as that is a statement piece! Love that skirt. The pattern and length is perfect, The tip off is the versatility, it looks fabulous in the many an varied ways you styled it, and I can see that you have more magic to work with it, too. ( denim, leather, fairisle sweater, maybe a buffalo check?)
merry, happy and cheers, sweet friend!
