I’ve been seeing some fun winter layering going on here, both in the blogsphere and while I’m out and about lately. I seriously loved the great suggestions Suzanne @ suzannecarillo.com uses and her reasoning behind it, you should most definitely take a peak.
We’re having a crazy warm winter so far in my hometown, which was the perfect excuse to purchase a new vest to add for layering instead a jacket or coat.
This fun little item can be paired with a skirt and heels for just a little added warmth . . .
or
Paired with skinnies and a sweater . . .
And then when the chill really hits, just add the hat and scarf and we’re good to go.
How about you, any suggestions for winter layering?
As always, thanks for dropping by . . .

Oh that vest – I love, love it and how you’re wearing it. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xox.

Thank you Patti, it’s such a fun little number, I find myself throwing it on daily.

I love both combos, but the one with white tights is actually my favourite. I love coloured hosiery and it’s so rare to see anything other than nude and black on people so anything that steps out of that formula…well, I love it. You wear it all well.

What a fantastic item that vest! And beuatifully styled. You could teach me a few things. I also like the shoes, boots and hat. You have a little cheeky look from underneath that hat LOL.
I have no suggestions to give on layering, only to get.

Ha, my husband said the same thing about the cheeky look, what’s with that? Thanks, my frined for the nice compliments.

I think it is because that hat is pulled over your head quite deep. It makes your eyes looke cheeky looking from underneath the brim.

Hi Trina, I just commented on your Hawaii post, ’cause how could I not, having just returned. Lucky us, our weather hasn’t been super, super cold. No snow in Utah? Is that odd or typical?
I don’t have any tips to add, but will definitely be taking away some helpful information from both you and Suzanne! One thing that I do not have a handle on is what to do with the clothing I have to take off when I go into a store for example. I’ve got an armful of scarves, gloves, jacket etc., and never quite sure of how to juggle it all.
trinagrandinetti says
Sue, first off; yes, it is quite odd to be having weather in the 50’s in December and no snow. I enjoy the freedom of still being able to safely drive around and run (jog) daily and yet there is nothing better than a white Christmas.
I hear you on the juggling issue, thats one of the reasons I’ve been turning to vest lately, I don’t feel the need to shed. As for scarves, I simply tie them to my purse straps and stick the gloves in the purse or my pockets.

Trina, I agree you have the whole layered look sorted. All your looks from the mountain casual to the dressed up winter white are stunning on you.Your vest is a great purchase, no doubt it will get many wears over your winter be it milder or otherwise.
trinagrandinetti says
I totally Agree Jill, it was a great purchase. Thank you for dropping by today.

The vest seems to be a very practical piece, with endless styling options. I don’t really do layering myself, just add a big coat over whatever I’m wearing, so it’s a revelation to see people like you do it so well.
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Tiina, I’m quite terrible when it comes to wearing a coat or jacket, I tend to want to shed them the moment I head indoors.

Okay, you’re just the cutest, Trina! LOVE both these looks! That vest is amazing! You look adorable with the hat and the plaid scarf! And I adore the gray suede heels with the white tights …. so fresh and chic!

Us, too! Almost hot one day, freezing the next! Gorgeous whites and neutrals … you look lovely. And you are as cute as a button and adorable as anyone I ever saw in your cozier look. Lots of layers, but easy to deal with during the ins and outs of a chilly day. Excellent, as always!
