A Few weeks ago, actually a few days before Labor day weekend, my husband and I decided to forgo our usual travel agenda, which involves; booking an airfare, a rental car, a hotel, strategically packing a carry-on suitcase, all our electronic (we think we can’t live without), then taking a deep breath and head out to our destination. This time, we decided to simply, throw in some backpacks, some hiking gear (which I will talk about tomorrow), a cooler with lots of water, some snacks for hiking, our golf clubs, and then drove stress free out of our drive way . . . calling to book a room at a hotel on our way.
We drove a few hours and decided we were much over due for this place . . .
Bryce National Canyon
A hike where at every turn you were met with priceless scenery . . .
It reminded me of being in Florence when you would turn a corner and come face to face with some of the most glorious man-made structures known to man, yet here . . . it was Heavenly constructed.
As we hiked into the canyon the views simply took my breath away . . .
And what about these statues . . .
Or the natural holes and arches . . .
But I believe the best part was observing how the sun would peak out at just the perfect place
And bring with it all sorts of color changes . . .
until it set and you were left with the perfect silhouette.
I think we’ll be doing a few more of these kind of mini vacations.
I would love to visit Bryce National Canyon! It’s so beautiful, as are your photos! Are the trails very hilly?
I’m the same way, by the way….it feels like cheating, lifting the back hatch of the Jeep and throwing in a bunch of stuff, LOL. We take SOOOOO much stuff when we travel by vehicle, than when we fly, but it’s just so easy! Takes away a lot of the stress.
Sue, you should seriously add this trip to your agenda, but only if I can meet you there. There’s plenty of different trails with different levels of difficulty so everyone can enjoy this wonderful place.
Simply stunning photos my dear! Visiting Bryce National canyon is definitely on my wish list! Thank you for sharing such majesty!
xoxo
Tamera
Oh, Tamera, I do think your wish list needs to come true. It would be a fantastic trip that both you and Jeff would thoroughly enjoy, although Par and I would absolutely love to crash your party, especially if Jeff threw in some golf clubs.
Beautiful, just beautiful. You live in a glorious part of the world. What a magnificent sites. I am glad I can see the pictures (being a city girl through and through hahaha). I am not pulling your leg. Nature is indeed great.
Greetje
Greetje, I do know you by now, so I do know your a city girl through and through. Although you do own some magnificent sneakers so I do believe you are set to go on this nature hike anytime you want to visit.
And then the next day we can put on our heels and go into the city.
Trina, I do agree that a trip such as this is a great idea! No airports, or luggage requirements, the lovely scenery to see as you drive. The photos you took are just stunning! Those canyons are magnificent! I am enjoying them almost as much as I might If I were there!
