As I wake up in the morning my street will be lined with our American Flags . . .
Because today is a celebration . . .
It’s our Country’s Birthday
A few days ago at our church service I had the privilege to once again stand and sing our National Athem. As we were half way through the song, my son looked up to see tears rolling down my cheeks. He quietly asked if I were ok. I whispered back that I was just overwhelmed with gratitude for what this song represents, a land of the brave, a land of the free.
I truly love everything this broad stripes and bright stars banner (Flag) represents for and to me and I’m waving and raising it proudly today.
On my front porch . . .
With my homemade flag, hanging on my door . . .
Flags placed in pots . . .
A wooden flag placed on the chair . . .
Red, white, and blue flowers planted in pots . . .
Even ‘Betty’ is dressed for the celebration.
And what will I be wearing?
Well most likely this star spangled t-shirt . . .
Paired with some denim capri’s and a vest
or
maybe with a summer skirt and fun flats
or
I just might borrow my hat from ‘Betty’ and stick with all cream and a denim vest.
What I do know is that I will be proudly waving a flag . . .
And being ever so grateful for all it represents.
It is heart warming to see you being so proud of your country (continent). These national feelings are felt far less with the Dutch. Unless it is soccer haha.
Molly is soooo cute. And I think your T-shirt is golden. I opt for the all cream outfit.

Hmmm posted cimmented with iPhone and no avatar. Hmmm
Ah.. log-in matter. Sorry Trina. Used your blog to test.
Happy birthday from Norway:)
I love your homemade flag! What a cute idea. We also use lots of little flags around pots and plants and dress in any red and blue!! I think the fourth is so fun and get emotional about it. Like you, the songs really get me! I feel so grateful to be an American, but my kids think I’m corny.
Hope you had fun Trina. Your outfit was cute!
