Last week my seersucker clothing came out of the closet and along side of them came this ever-so-fun seersucker cherry print material. I actually came across this piece last year and quickly grabbed what was left on the bolt. Since I’m just a tiny bit too old for a cherry seersucker summer dress, I found it to be the perfect summer table cloth. And you know me, after I spread this on the table, the creative juices just started flowing.
I ran around my house gathering up all my red, white, and black dishes.
And then my cake stands, bowls, serving dishes and tea pots along with any other items that I felt would make me smile for a fun and lively cherry tablescape.
As I mentioned before I think its fun to mix and match dishes, therefore I chose three different varieties.
Then I began building the centerpiece (or tablescape). I knew right away that I needed cherries, and by the way, they are so fresh and yummy right now.
That’s when I thought, why not stick with a fruit bar, adding some pineapple and fresh blueberries.
The pineapple were placed inside a ceramic bread pan, because it was red and it matched so well, the blueberries I placed in old white pots.
The last step is to add those fresh flowers and plants, since I’m setting the inside table, I still want it to feel like we’re out in a garden.
The flowers were placed in a mason jar and an old salad dressing bottle. I used alyssum from the garden for the added outdoorsy feel.
When it was all done, it looked so fun and inviting, I just knew that all it needed was a few friends to join me for tea and fruit, ok we will be having some yummy pastries as well.
Sometimes you don’t need to plan an elaborate party to celebrate. Remember, everyday should be a celebration. You can be as spontaneous as you would like. Call a few friends on the phone, text them, email them, send them this little message inviting them over.
Life is too short not to be enjoyed with good friends. Thank you, blogging friends for dropping by today. I truly wish all of you could join me today for real.
P.S. If any of you want a copy of this little invite, let me know I will send it your way. And if you need the day changed, that’s an easy fix.
Linking up with Jann for SYC, it’s always a fun place to find inspiration.
I need you to live next door : )
bisous

Yes, you do.
What a beautiful table again. You know you can make a business out of this, don’t you? You are so good at this.
