For those of you who follow my blog are familiar with my cute daughter, Tori. One of the joys of having a grown daughter is having a best friend who enjoys the same things you do. For the two of us this includes endless days of shopping, playing dress up, shopping in one another’s closets, and experimenting with different hair styles and make-up. Another bonus about having a daughter as your best friend is having a fashion critic who is brutally honest in all regards. Being reminded daily of our age difference (25 years) has made it very easy for me to embrace aging with grace, dignity and still try to be stylish chic, (I have someone whispering advice).
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Kim, the co-owner of Kika clothing to see if I would be interested in sampling a few of their products. After familiarizing myself with this incredible company, I quickly became aware that not only is it a mother/daughter owned company which was founded by women, for women, but their clothing line totally fit our mother/daughter lifestyle and shows off our similarities and unique differences as well. They also support organizations that are dear to our hearts. The proceeds from their scarves go to support women’s shelters and their soft cotton is made from organic cotton helping to maintain our environment.
For example this outfit, which includes the kika Lizzy jacket, Skinny pants, Joyce top, and coordinating scarf fits my 50 something lifestyle to the T. I found that I could take this stylish ensemble on a date night, out for shopping day while visiting Tori and the best part, it proved to be the best travel outfit I’ve ever ever had. The non-wrinkle material, the stretch of the pants, the non bulky cardigan and the added bonus of having a matching scarf (which is essential for traveling) was absolute PERFECTION!
This outfit, which includes the kika Camille Skirt, the Mimi jacket, the Drew tank top and coordinating scarf was the perfect match for a new mommy who still likes to feel stylish and chic while going about her daily task. Tori found the skirt will be worn a lot more often that any pair of shorts and by pairing it with the classy blazer gave it fun and dressy on-the-go look.
When you see us side by side, it’s just so easy to see how we put our individual style to any given item (we both threw on the scarves with no thought involved just our natural way of wearing them).
Another reason I jumped at the chance to sample and post some items for Kika is the business practice they adhere to. All their items are eco friendly and all made in the US . . . YAY for them! I was totally amazed at how comfy, and stylish their items were but the softness and care was what won my heart. I will definitely be a loyal customer.
Thank you so very much kika for producing clothing by women for women!
*next week I’ll show you how Tori and I each chose to style one of their fun maxi’s and you can guess which one of us won the coin toss to keep it.
Disclosure: Kika sent these complimentary outfits to review. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
