With the coming of spring weather, which means some sunshine but still a bit chilly, I’ve been playing a lot with these three basics:
SOME KHAKI, SOME WHITE, AND SOME BRIGHT
For me, it’s been my khaki capri’s, my basic white button down, and my bright blazer.
I’ve paired them with Silver heels . . .
and accessorized with chunky silver and gold pearl.
and I’ve also paired them with some leopard sandals . . .
and accessorized with lots of gold for whole different feel.
And then I really have fun days and pair them with my vans . . .
and panama hat instead of jewelry . . .
for just an all around casual look.
Isn’t it fun to play with the basics once in awhile?
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful day . . . hopefully playing with some basics.
Join me over at Patti’s for visible Monday.
For those of you who asked:
pants- jcrew
blazer- gap
white button down- madewell
hat- anthropologie
silver pumps- banana republic (on sale right now)
vans- van
sandals- sam edelman(nordstrom)
love the white, bright and *sneakers!* – what a great look. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xox
Patti, I know I’ve said this plenty of times, but thank YOU for having visible Monday.
Nice look, with all shoes, even though I choose, for this look, third, canvas sneakers, are great with the informality of the proposal. Love the jacket is cute. The hat looks wonderful you, always.
Jospe-Maria, you are choosing the sneakers? I’m totally surprised but love it.
Nice look.
Such fun looks! My favorite is with the canvas sneakers and great fedora hat.

Alice, it’s my favorite look as well, mainly because its just a whole lot of fun.
In answer to your question, a resounding Yes, it is fun to play with basics! You’ve started the fun with the bright blazer, LOVE IT! And I love the look with each shoe selection here. The converse tennies are adorable!
Thank you Sue, and I should have known you are great at playing with basics and making them oh, so fun.
Amazing how an outfit changes just with a swap of shoes! I love the color of the jacket, suits you really well!

Isn’t that the truth? Now the men in our life just need to realize why we have and like so many shoes, right?
Great jacket, wonderful colour on you. So many great looks, love your silver shoes.
Thank you Jill, and those silver shoes- the best part, they are super duper comfy.
Those silver pumps have my name on them. I bet they go with everything you own.
That neon blazer is just wild. I love how you have paired it with the khaki. It is something I never would have thought of that works.
bisous
Suzanne
You are so right, I find myself grabbing these pumps almost everyday lately, becuase they go with about everything I own.
Oh I love this…. they are all so nice and playful. And you have silver shoes!! I am hunting high and low to find a pair (affordable). Found silver slingbacks though, but not closed pumps yet. So nice…
Everything you have got on is good. Love it.
Greetje
Greetje, see you need to come for a visit. I know you don’t shop online but I just purchased them last week at banana republic on a great sale and they are so comfy. By the way, I also do 90% of my shopping at the stores, I totally agree with you, its so much more fun.
Hah… I was lucky this time. I found my closed pair of silver pumps at… Marks & Spencers in The Hague for… € 24,95. Normal price. And they are very comfortable. Still a bit tight at the toes but that will wear off. The first day I wore them it was for a whole day.
And yes I would love to come over. Only.. it will cost me quite a bit to come over and how much will I have left for shopping haha. And because we don’t really know each other I would not dare coming for a fortnight, perhaps not even a week. And to come over for four days… hmmm. Still I am considering it.
How fun and playful Trina! I enjoy seeing all the variations in styling these great colored basics. I love the hat, it fits you. Do you wear it often? Pairing bright yellow/green with olive is brilliant. I must try this. You do have a fine selection of shoes. As Sylvia says to me, “I’d like to raid your closet!”
blue hue wonderland
Well, we can do a closet swap any day. And, yes, I do wear this hat quite often becuase it fits so well and its light weight.
You are my favorite chameleon! You go from chic to casual to funky in the blink of an eye. This is a great color formula and you have me longing for proper Spring weather!

I’ll try sending you some spring weather your way, but I don’t know how long it will last here.
This just made me smile very broadly, Trina! I love that you just “play” and come up with such lovely combinations! What a beauty you are, and your taste is absolutely enviable, as always.
Hope to see you in April, but unsure still of our situation … we’re just a little in the weeds, but we’d so like to get out and meet you guys for dinner up in NWA of a Sunday night. We haven’t done that in sooooo long. We could use a treat, and nothing would be more fun. Sorry I’ve been out of touch, but things have been busy and trying. We’re fine, though, and hope for some nice changes for the better now that it’s spring! Let me know what your plans are, if you still intend to come out our way! E-mail if you wish, kiddo!
Yes, I would still love to meet up with you. I’ll shoot an email your way and let you know our details.
Wow….super stylish, love that pop color jacket with the chinos! xx
Trina, I think it is fun to play with all clothing !,
I love your mix of khaki, neon and silver shoes! Also love the kicks!
I agree it is challenging when it is spring but still chilly.. But you pulled these off with your signature panache!
