This week Anne, over at Spy Girl had a fun challenge to First pick out a scarf and Then match an outfit.
Well, how fun is this idea?
I took my cute little scarf for a walk around my closet and here are the items I came up with . . .
FIRST
Why not do some pattern and texture mixing by adding the scarf with this checked jacket, worn with royal pants and a simple black tee.
Apparently my scarf wasn’t through walking around . . .
SECOND FIND
Why not break up some color blocking with these gray skinnies, cream blouse and wine cardigan?
And it just couldn’t sit down without finding a casual look to end it’s walk . . .
THIRD FIND
Tie it a around a few times, slip on another pattern tee, same wine cardigan with black skinnies and I’m all set for a day of series play time.
Thank you, Anne, for this wonderful idea. I will definitely be taking more of my scarves for walks around my closet. How about you, have you tried this reverse matching concept?
You can all head over to Spy Girl for more ideas or
over to Patti’s for Visible Monday where we all get together for some fun inspiration.
And on Tuesday I’m linking up with Shelley @stillblondeafteralltheseyears.

Gosh, scarves are so amazing. I love how they liven up any outfit. I like all of your outfit, but am especially fond of the first. Have a wonderful week!
trinagrandinetti says
Thanks for dropping by, Glenda. It looks as though everyone agrees with you as well. The first outfit is the one to stick with.

Nothing like a pair of fun shoes to set the mood, right?

Love them all and quiter often I begin an outfit with a scarf when I am not already inspired, works every time!
trinagrandinetti says
I have never tried this before, but it won’t be my last.

Trina, I like all three looks, but the look with pants, kein blue is stunning. It’s a beautiful look, with the wonderful scarf sets a great outfit. In this look, the jacket and heels are also very important. Attractive and elegant, it’s beautiful. Combinations with garnet, gray and black, are also good, but do not get the great result of the first look. I like it a lot.
trinagrandinetti says
I’m thinking the first is definitely the way to go.
silkpathdiary says
That’s a great scarf! I love all your looks. My scarves sometimes come first but I know they all match or compliment a lot in my closet already so it’s quite easy to put the outfit together.
trinagrandinetti says
For some reason , this does not surprise me (you already knowing how your scarf will compliment), you are always so put together.
Patti @ NotDeadYet Style says
Woo-hoo, you look fab in cobalt blue pants and that gorgeous scarf. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, and have a great week ahead. xo
trinagrandinetti says
And, thank you, as always for getting us all together.

So pretty Trina, I love your style! So close to all the things I like. You and I would be a pair out shopping wouldn’t we? I love this first outfit, such a great use of color and pattern. All three are great!

Now, wouldn’t that be a fun afternoon? Shopping together that is. I’m truly thinking I need to make this trip happen, that is when the weather gets a bit warmer in your part of the woods.
Spashionista says
You are such a fashion badass, Trina! Pattern and texture mixing like a pro and working it like you own it. I love your sense of adventure because it never looks costumey. All three looks are flawless!

Alicia, I just love your comments, they totally make my day. Thank you, fun lady.
Anne the SpyGirl says
Wow! This is great! THREE versions! And I never thought of combining cobalt and burgundy. Silly me!
Thank you so much for linking up with 52 Pick-me-up.
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you for sparking the imagination and creativity we all need.
The Style Crone says
Your ‘scarf creativity’ is inspiring! I am continually amazed by your ability to pattern mix and come up with combinations that I had not thought about. The cobalt pants thrill me!
trinagrandinetti says
Oh thank you so much, Judith. It’s always a compliment to think I could in some tiny way inspire you.
Jessica says
I love each of your scarf outfit creations. You are so creative!
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Jessica. Playing around or walking through my closet is a great form of creative energy, haha.

See?? Now this is what I call difficult. I have put together outfits before starting with the scarf. But combining textures, patterns and colours is so difficult. I love the first black/blue/white combination. That is so beautiful, a real head turner. I agree with Josep-Maria that jacket and shoes are a great find. As is the blue (OK, I mentioned everything now). I very much like the second outfit too, although proportionwise it is slightly more difficult. Perhaps because the blouse is buttoned up to the neck? (As if I would know haha.)
The third outfit is very good too. My only remark is that the cardigan is very open at the top, creating a bit of a strange line. Love your skinnies.

I so need you to be my shopping partner, I love your honesty. My daughter is the only other person who will really tell me the truth or her true opinion. After looking at the picture, you are right on the number with that last combination. Probably won’t be wearing that combo again.
Jan Graham-McMillen says
Ah! Zebra and tweed! Yup. Very cool and good looking. Sweet scarf, but I love what you did with it … you really wear your skinnies well!
(I’m still sorry our meet-up won’t happen, but we will persevere, yes?)
trinagrandinetti says
I’m still feeling bad over this meet-up but its only a delay. We will definitely get there and sooner than later. Unless I hear back from you that you need free kitchen hands.
