A few months ago I had the opportunity of meeting up with a blogging friend, Tamera Beardsley. During the evening she asked me a simple question, “Why did you begin blogging?” My first thoughts were; I was bored with life and I really don’t know.
AND YET
That wasn’t really the answer . . .
Like, Tamera, in her recent post, “Write the blog you want to read“, (which you should go take a look at) my children were now all grown up, one married and the other off at college, and I was faced with “what is my life calling now” state of mind.
So I took a deep (really deep) breath and thought about all the things that bring
JOY
and
HAPPINESS
and
SATISFACTION
into my life.
THAT’S WHEN I REALIZED HOW INCREDIBLY FULL MY LIFE REALLY WAS . . .
AND I WANTED TO SHARE SOME WITH OTHERS. . .
WITH HOPE THAT I WOULD LIFT OR INSPIRE OR BETTER YET MAKE SOME NEW FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY.
Believe me, I knew absolutely nothing about blogging when I began, If you have follow me, you probably already realized this, but I’m learning. I’ve also learned that I break most “blogging rules”.
For starters I don’t really have a platform . . .
or a schedule to when I blog . . .
Because you see the things that bring me joy, and happiness and satisfaction range from . . .
SPENDING TIME WITH MY FAMILY
to
ENTERTAINING FRIENDS
to
FASHION
to
DECORATING
to
CAPTURING EVERYDAY BEAUTY WITH PHOTO’S
And I can’t seem to decide which I want to leave out, and that’s why I choose
TEA TIME WITH TRINA
Because what my blog boils down to is . . .
A thirst for beauty . . .
A peek at some memorable life experiences . . .
Setting a lovely table . . .
Paying attention to the little details in life . . .
(like simply having a glass of ice water from a crystal glass, and why not?)
Getting dressed up for an occasion . . .
and best of all
SPENDING CHERISHED HOURS IN THE COMPANY OF NEW AND OLD FRIENDS.
So as this new year begins . . .
I invite you . . .
TO COME TO TEA WITH ME. . .
It may be to discuss fashion
or
decorating
or entertaining
or family life
BUT ALL IN ALL , IT’S REALLY JUST A TIME TO RELAX AND ENJOY ONE ANOTHER’S FRIENDSHIPS.
I’m looking forward to another great year and to learning more to this ever ending blogging network of friends. Thanks for those of you who have joined me on this adventure . . .
Glad you started it. I enjoy it and I consider you my friend. Although at a distance unfortunately. I gladly come to tea.
Greetje
Thank you Greetje, I consider you a dear friend as well. Someday we will have tea together.
Are you saving up to come over? Or waiting for me to come to you haha?
Good question. I would like for both to happen. I love traveling and seeing new places and you have me sold 100% on your home town. It will most likely be the September more than May since May is looking a bit crazy here. But it would be fun for a bunch of bloggers to get together somewhere, don’t you think?
Me too, so glad you started blogging, Trina. Your site is such a pleasure. xox
Thank you Patti, it’s so nice to hear words of encouragement.
Trina, I do believe that most of what you wrote I also could have written to describe my blogging. I am a rule breaker for sure, bit when you write about things that are personal , then there really are no rules. Your site is truly special, so consider me, please, a tea drinker, with Trina!

Thank you, thank you Elle. And, I do consider you a tea drinker. By the way, it looks like I might be in NYC on Feb.8-10 maybe just maybe we could have tea?
So well said and the pictures were the perfect reflection. The turquoise piece took my breath away and you look totally soignee in those fabulous trousers. Here’s to another great year!
Thank you Jean. By the way, found that beautiful turquose piece at Home Goods (who would have guest).
I also never started with a plan…
No matter what kind of blog we have or what our goals are, I always consider authenticity most important. Your blog certainly is authentic, Trina and that’s why I love coming back and I love your sense of style, your decoration at home and your beautiful photos!
Annette | Lady of Style
I would never ever have guest you started with no plan, your blog is so right on target and well thought out, it must be your authenticity speaking loud and clear. Thank you for the connection we have made thus far.
What a wonderfully, sincere post! Looking forward to sharing more with you over the 2014 year! Xoxo
I’m so looking forward to sharing and getting to know you better this year. Your unique style always brings a smile to my face.
What a lovely post. Variety is the spice of life.
I’m like you. I cannot choose to focus on one area on my blog. I think artistic people simply aren’t able to. Too many areas of interest and we get bored too quickly.
bisous
Suzanne
Amen to all your words. I’m thinking our closets probably look quite similar as well, no one particular style, just a collection of whatever makes us feel good.
You really are an artist, you know? Like everyone else here, I’m so glad you did start your blog! Looking forward to seeing you IRL, happy the date is set and will be in touch as soon as I know more what we can do for getting together that day!
Trina, thankyou for your beautiful post ,as someone new to the blogging world I find it fascinating to hear how everyone starts this journey. Your images are always really beautiful.
Love your blog. My grandmother used to collect teacups, I’m almost certain she had the one in the center in the picture of the grouping of three.
Thank you so much for your beautiful blog. Although our lifestyles are very different, I really enjoy the way you bring beauty and joy into your daily activities. It gives me inspiration to do the same for myself.
Those tea pot shots are so creative. I always wonder what to do with all my beautiful things. Once again you have provided me inspiration!
