On that One Special Day when you know all eyes will be on you . . .
And you want to feel just like a Princess . . .
Of course a lot has to do with The Dress.
A girl (woman) will spend countless hours . . .
Dreaming of this dress . . .
Designing it in her head . . .
Imagining what she will look like . . .
When she finally buttons the last button and . . .
Presents herself to that One Special guy (and the rest of the crowd).
Little does she know that this is only the beginning . . .
That this Dress will hold countless memories for years and years to come . . .
So as each year passes . . .
and new memories are created . . .
Every third of December she carefully takes this Dress out of storage . . .
And once again slips it on and one by one buttons each button and then . . .
Takes another look in the mirror . . .
Just to let all those incredibly happy memories fill her heart to overflowing . . .
And once again is reminded . . .
That she would not change a single stitch or design of that dress . . .
or one single thing about the man that she presented herself to 27 years ago today. . .
Because it really isn’t the dress that makes her feel like a Princess day in and day out . . .
It’s that wonderful man . . .
She proudly calls her husband and best friend.
(Happy Anniversay Sweet guy, sure do love you)
*as a tradition to myself, I slip on my wedding dress every year just to see if it still fits.
As always my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have a most wonderful day.
I know this is going on two years ago, but it’s not Dec. 3rd for another three weeks, therefore the dress won’t be coming out until then. And yet, I loved the idea Catherine of (notdressedaslamb) has for this weeks #iwillwearwhatilike, which is #wearingmyweddingdress so I’m linking this up.
My God, Trina, that you used in your beautiful wedding dress is a gem, it’s beautiful. You look so beautiful and elegant with it. And after 27 years, you can wear it with the same elegance that day, your body is in shape, your figure is perfect. The words, for your husband, are beautiful, you are a great woman, and he is a lucky man.
Thank you Joseph-Maria for those kind, kind words.
Wow! Wow! Wow!!!!
How beautiful is this post! Where to start! First off… my dear … I don’t think I have ever seen you look more beautiful and radiant! Your inner beauty truly shines brightly through!!
The loving sentiment you share … remarkable! You are able to say so very much about life’s travels … with just a few beautifully chosen words! I love that you have a tradition to yourself … to try on the dress and reflect!
You, dear Trina … are a true inspiration to the power of love!
Wishing you both a marvelous Anniversary … the world is a much better place because of the love you share!
Thank you! Dear friend, we both have very special men in our lives. Isn’t it a blessing to find men like them who can bring so much joy into our lives?
First of all: Happy anniversary.
Secondly: wow, you can still fit into your wedding dress. After 27 years and two children. Not many women can do that.
I particularly like the back of the dress, the bow with the extra skirt (don’t know the proper word for it and the dictionary does not help).
I know you are happy with your husband, your kids, family, life, everything. It is so nice to meet a truly happy person. And you celebrate it, you commemorate the start, you don’t take it for granted. Love you.
(It hurts a bit too, as I never had a wedding dress. I got married, but no wedding dress. And as you said at the beginning of your story: I had it all figured out how it had to look…alas… Long story.)

I hope to one day sit with you and listen to your story, then the two of us are going to go and try on wedding dresses while I take your picture.
The back of my dress is thre train, I actually did design my dress and had the seamstress make it as a removable train because I knew I was having a live band and dancing at my reception and I wasnt going to miss out on the fun.
Also thank you for your kind words, I am truly blessed and you are so right I don’t take it for granted, not one single day. My husband went through cancer 12 years ago and every day we give thanks for another day.
I get the feeling you are one happy lady yourself.
Yes I am.
Happy anniversary to you two! You look so beautiful in your wedding dress, and I love how you’ve made it a special ritual. I married my best friend too, isn’t it grand? xo
Yes, Patti, it is grand. I have been greatly surprised when we became empty-nesters that this friendship has even gotten better. It’s probably a good thing we both act like children half the time.
Look at all the lovely lace on that fabulous dress! Better yet look at your hot body still rocking the same dress. That has got to put one huge smile on your face each time. Huge accomplishment as well as 27 years of marriage. Not many people can say that nowadays.
Happy Anniversary!
bisous

Ha, it is a huge motivator to get that morning work out in every single day. Thank you for making me laugh about this.
Happy Anniversary 🙂 I’ll be celebrating my 22nd and for the first time, I think I could fit into the dress once again…what a beautiful tribute to a long lasting relationship!
Yay! I do think you should try it on and send pictures, I would love to see.
Happy Anniversary! I am sure you look even more beautiful today in this gorgeous gown than you did 27 years ago.
You must feel great that it still fits so beautifully.
I thought about posting my wedding picture but it would have brought quite the uproar of laughter due to my awesome 80’s hairstyle. (Talk about big bangs, oh and blue eye shadow).
Happy Anniversary Trina! This is such a wonderful post. I love that you put on the dress every year to re-live that special day. This dress is gorgeous and love that it’s not just sitting in a box. You are incredible to be able to fit into it after all these years. I am not a very sentimental type of gal and donated my wedding dress to Goodwill and hopefully a bride was able to use it.

What a special post this is, dear Trina. Not only your dress fits you like a glove after all these years but your photos and words speak and show love. How wonderful! Thank you for sharing this with us.
My marriage ended several years ago but I still keep my dress. We have a good relation and our children are above everything else for both of us.

This is a wonderful tradition! I am lucky that I have a sari from my wedding receptions. I’m guaranteed to fit into it every year for the rest of my life, as it is a length of fabric that I can just wind around myself to fit!
This is a wonderful tradition. Your dress is beautiful and fits you like a glove. Your husband is a lucky man to share his life with such a special woman. Thanks for sharing this beautiful post.
