I associate RED SANDSTONE with VACATIONING
just like others may associate white sand with the Caribbean
or
sky blue beaches with Greece
or
pine trees with a cabin
RED SANDSTONE is . . .
spending time with those I love
going barefoot for a week . . .
bathing in the lake
waking up to only endless Sandstone
the sound of water breaking gently on the shore
a fish jumping for pleasure
the silence of the television
lots and lots and lots of laughter
it’s the smell of sunscreen
and dinner grilling on the deck
of late night campfires
it’s the silliness of playing old fashion games
It’s watching extraordinary sunsets
and sleeping under millions and million of stars
It’s enjoying life to the fullest.
RED SANDSTONE represents freedom from my ordinary life.
(pictures represent our time at Lake Powell).
What color represents freedon from your ordinary life?
What color or object do you associate with vacationing?

I guessed that this was Lake Powell. Having grown up in Las Vegas, we would visit that area now and then.
Looks like you had a lovely time – really getting away from it all and enjoying nature.

A Vegas girl, huh? I have lots of family in Vegas so that’s another visiting place.

Wow that looks magical. I know how much I enjoyed the red stone, and combined with the blue water it’s just stunning. Beauitful pictures! And, is that your boat?
trinagrandinetti says
Yes, that’s our house boat, I’m taking pictures from our ski boat. Some people have cabins, others have beach homes, we have the house boat. As a kid growing up my parents had one and we just took over the tradition, it’s such a great way to spend close family time.

Great pictures! I’ve never been to Lake Powell and it’s on my list of things to do. Thank you for sharing!

Amazing photos! Looks a wonderful place. I love deep sapphire blue as it reminds me of the South of France and of course lavender for their delicious lavender fields.
trinagrandinetti says
Well, South of France I have never been before, but I’m looking forward to seeing it in person some day soon.

Beautiful. It relaxes me just looking at it. I have no holiday colour. I don’t go on holiday much. Strange but true. I am an odd ball (is that a right expression?)

You’re not an odd ball at all. Maybe your just one to vacation at home and that’s perfectly wonderful also.

Trian,
Another beautiful, transporting post! I so look forward to each one of these. I think my most relaxing scene is when the sun starts to set and it has ribboes of orange and lavender, against a black-green silhoutee.
I get to see this whenever I leave Manhattan for Long Island, and this is most weekends!
Also, I dont travel often, so I can do so vicariously through these posts!! Thanks!!
