In 1776
The Declaration of Indpendence was signed
John Adams wrote these words in a letter to his wife, Abigail
“it ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”
Thank you, John Adams, that’s exactly what we plan to do!
MY LIBERTY GREETINGS BANNER

FAMILY AND FRIENDS THE TABLE IS READY
(don’t make it hard on yourself, just gather an old quilt for the table cloth, pie tins as the dinner plates, vintage pie dessert plates, mason jars for drinking, and what’s more American than apple pie?
Just in case you prefer a more formal setting, well join me here.
Whether you’re joining in the parades, attending a baseball game, having bonfires, or backyard BBQ’s, make sure you do it with pomp and remember the nighttime illuminations.
I’m heading over to Jann’s for Share your cup Thursday
Hi Trina, I love apple pie, maybe I’m a little American 🙂 You’re the queen of the festivities. Your preparations are spectacular, I love your lifestyle. I’m excited to feel patriotic Americans, are an admirable people in many ways. And your look? Beautiful, as always. The sailor dress with the colors of the flag, is fantastic. I hope you liked so much great day yesterday.
I think you must be a little American. I would so love to serve you some apple pie with ice cream today. This is the downfall of blogging friendships, especially for one like myself who loves to entertain and mingle with friends.
Fabulous post, display and look, Trina.
Have a great celebration of your National Day!
Annette
Lady of Style
Thank you Annette! I did take your fun polyvore post for my swimsuit idea (for today) but we won’t be posting those pictures, haha.
Looking the part girl! And still stylish. Well done. And of course your tables are magnificent. Your 4th of July is like our Queensday. The whole country celebrating and dressed in red, white and blue (with orange as an addition in Holland). Instead of apple pie (love that), we have Tom Poes (literally translated Tom Cat) which is puff paste with yellow thick cream (confectioner’s cream?) and orange glazing.
Hope you had a lovely time.
Greetje
Those Tom Cat’s sound amazing! Maybe you should send me a recipe . . . I could try to replicate them for a tea party (and I did say try).
Lovely pictures. Could you tell me the brand of the white watch you are wearing? I have been searching for one just like it. Thanks and happy 4th!
Brenda, It’s a Michael Kors and you will love it. This watch is seriously weightless. Oh, thanks for dropping by today, you have a wonderful 4th as well.
Oh girl, you are too darn cute! Love, love your Americana attire! John Adams sure did say it right. We must celebrate our wonderful freedoms. Your tables both are just wonderful! Hope you had a joyous day and evening! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Thank you, Jann! I hope your holiday was well spent also. We still need to get together since we live so close to one another.
