As a young child I grew up singing this song every spring. And still to this day whenever the white blossoms appear on the trees I burst out with this song. It was written in 1924 by a sweet lady by the name of Georgia W. Bello while looking out her window one spring morning at her lovely apricot trees that had just burst into blossoms she was inspired to write her thoughts.
The words to this simple and joyful song are:
“I looked out the window and what did I see?
Popcorn popping on the apricto tree.
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise,
popcorn popping right before my eyes.
I can take an armful and make a treat.
A popcorn ball that will smell so sweet.
It wasn’t really so, but it seemed to be . . .
popcorn popping on the apricot tree.”
*Note to myself . . . remember to make time to notice and ENJOY the little things like popcorn on apricot trees and all the other beautiful blossoms.

What fun. A lovely song to teach the kiddos, just what they like and I think it will trigger the imagination. ..Although here I will have to call my flowering pear an apricot tree! Thank you for the simple pleasure and the reminder to always see the magic around us. And your outfit is very nice.

Fabulous outfir – your T-Shirt and necklace are amazing together and you paired them with those cool trousers!
After our very long winter my tulips aren’t blooming yet. I love the pink and purple colours and I always have all sorts of flowers in exactly those shades on my patio.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! This is how I found yours even before I went through Patti’s links today.

Love some blossoms … the tree, the necklace and the peony! All pretty, but you look a little chilled! That’s optimism! Go Trina!
trinagrandinetti says
Ha, you noticed. Yes, I was actually freezing. Here in the Salt Lake Valley they say we can experience all four seasons in one day, Saturday was one of those.
Sue @ A Colourful Canvas says
Hi Trina, I found a treasured bracelet in Cannon Beach years ago. I don’t know if it’s being on holiday that opens up the window to such sweet finds, or if Oregon is a special little jewelry mecca. Probably a bit of both. And I was going to comment about you looking freezing as Jan did above. I want to wrap you in a warm blanket and make you a hot chocolate!
Now, to the meat of the post! Beautiful blossoms. The analogy of the popcorn is surely going to stick with me. Such a lovely little song!

Love your song and photos. So spring. Makes you happy. Listened to the song as well. Being Dutch I have never heard it before but it sounds very cheerful.
Especially like your shoes in this outfit (you look a bit cold in spite of the spring).
trinagrandinetti says
I’m so glad to hear I made you happy. And, yes, it was a bit chilly that day.
