With spring finally here, it also means a few rain showers are most likely going to come your way. At least that’s what happens in my part of the world.
So I decided to just “Put on a Happy Face”. Throw on some polka dots, add a bit of bright yellow a little floral on a jacket, grab a big umbrella, slip on some handy- dandy rainboots and I’m all set.
Well, almost all set . . . then I put my (shower) singing voice on and start pretending I’m Gene Kelly just singing and dancing in the rain.
I’ve always loved this song and even though I’m maturing in my years I’m still part of the generation that had never seen this movie on the big screen, that is until last summer. It was the 60th anniversary of this treasure and many cities (mine included) were having public screenings at their big theatres. Well, I jumped at that chance and what a delight that was! It was comic relief and entertainment at the highest degree.
So, when you wake up to a spring rainstorm, don’t let it get you down. Just start singing . . .
“good morning, good morning” or “Moses Supposes His Toeses are Roses” or how about “Make em Laugh”, better yet, grab your umbrella and go do some singing and dancing in the rain.
Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day.

Even with your rain boots are stylish, you can not avoid it, you naturally elegant. I love your jacket is lovely pattern, and stamping. And I love your stockings are so cute and are perfect in the outfit. The touch of yellow is the grace of the look, a success. I really like the song “Singing in the Rain”, and I imagine you singing in your garden, a great image.

Thanks Trina, I can so copy this look haha. I have a pattern black and white jacket, a yellow top, black skirt and dotted tights. Thank you very much. In advertising we say; better to copy a good idea than to invent a bad one.
You look every so fabulous. Josep-Maria said it all. This is the second time he stole the words right out of my mouth with a comment. I feel a Meatloaf song coming up haha. And I also like Singing in the rain. Well.. the song that is. My hair cannot stand rain. Your hair looks particularly lovely by the way.

Yes, please do copy, I can’t wait to see! Thank you dearly for all the compliments. The umbrella saved the day for the hair.

Quite soon I am going to publish my version of this jacket. The copying did not go well. Your original is far better. Which I will say admit in my post. Of course with a link to your version. I will email you just before publishing.

You make me smile! I love the black and white trench with a pop of yellow! I wrote about you today on my blog, Trina! I thought you might be interested in the tea lady in the post, too. I’m excited about her shop!
Happy Spring! It’s finally for real…although it’s a tad chilly here this a.m.

Now where on earth did you find those darling dotty tights? Love, love them! I wore black, white, and mustard the other day and wondered if I looked like a bumble bee. lol! Bumble bee or not, I got alot of compliments so it was worth buzzing around in it for the day. I love Spring time rain! It just lasts a little while and it makes everything so fresh, green, and lovely.
hugs,
Jann

Come to think of it, I do resemble a bumble bee (but at least a happy one). If you’re really courious, the fun tights came from nordstroms, they are the hue brand. Thanks for dropping by.

Fun pictures Trina and you look ever so stylish. Did you know that Sam Edelman named a shoe after you? http://rstyle.me/~o6fp (and a nice one too; I added it to my shoe shopping wish list)

Funny, you should mention that. I actually saw this style last year and waited too long to purchase them in my size. I love the new colors for this season and with my name stamped on them, I think its a perfect excuse to own a pair, don’t you think?
