This is what happens when two minds think alike and are in the same place at the same time.
Yes, we did get some second glances as we walked down the beach (and I don’t think it was due to our bikini’s). I knew my daughter and I both had purchased the same dress but who would have guessed we both would take them on our trip and then decide to wear them the same day. Definitely as mother-like-daughter happening.
A few weeks ago we were able to spend a week with our daughter and son-in-law on the beaches of Maui and Honolulu. Sylvia, at 40 plus style, posted that vacations are about the experiences you create and not the fashion you wear. I couldn’t agree more with her. Here’s some of my treasured experiences.
Waking up to a rainbow, now that’s a good start to any day.
Capturing Hawaii’s state flower.
Probably the highlight of our trip, this whale decided to put on a spectacular performance.
This happens to be our favorite place to eat, not exactly because of the menu but 100% due to the atmosphere. Live music and over looking the ocean.
Watching the little crabs come out at night.
Can’t leave Hawaii without memories of those incredible sunsets.
A visit to one of my favorite places on earth, Laie Hawaii Temple.
and the beautiful young couple.
There is nothing quite like time spent with those you love. Thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful day.
This is wonderful! Love the whale photos and the matching dresses and the feeling of relaxation!
Thank you Kathleen. I thought of you every time I wore a sun hat.
Good golly! That whale! Thanks for sharing those. I don’t know if I’ll ever make it to Hawaii or not, but you’ve put me there by sharing. LOVE the dress. Like mother, like daughter, eh?
So glad you enjoyed the photo’s, and yes, the whale was just awe inspiring.
Beautiful trip. The elderly couple is very pretty too. Your beach dress is beautiful, I love the print and you look beautiful with your daughter.
You are always the first to remind us that age still can be a beautiful thing. And, I do have to admit, I’m very happy in this older stage of life.
Oh my goodness, how lovely is this. Those wales!!! And yes what a coincidence. You both look lovely in those dresses. Fabulous to see such a happy family on such a lovely trip. Enjoy.
Thank Greetje, those whales really made my trip. I have never seen them perform like that before.
Thanks so much for sharing the wonderful pictures. Too funny about you and your daughter wearing the same dress; my sister and I do that frequently when we’re together. You both look sensational in the print — you must get mistaken for sisters, though.

Thank you for dropping by. Isn’t it nice to have a sister you can relate to. My sister and I are very close (friendship wise) but extremely different in style and taste. A daughter is a bit easier to train, haha.
Lovely photos and a lovely family vacation! You both look beautiful in the dresses. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. It’s nice to meet you! Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com
Thank you Debbie.
Looks like you had a fabulous vacation! I grew up in Hawaii and have never seen a whale while growing up there. Now, we live in Southern California and I have not seen a whale either when we went whale watching.

Alice, I seriously felt so blessed that we were able to enjoy the whales on that particular day. It’s the first time in all my visits to Hawaii, California, and the Oregon coast that I was finally able to see these lovely, incredible animals (mammals).
Visiting Hawaii must be like a more than enough in glorious sights, sounds, tastes and experiences to worry about what you’re wearing:). What a wonderful trip away and how special it must have been for the four of you. Unforgettable! xox
