Easter, just the thought of this day brings a smile and joy to my face. It’s the season of renewal, rebirth, new life, and . . . Bonnets. My tulips, and hyacinths are quickly sprouting and any day will blanket my garden with an array of spring colors, the birds are happily chirping their morning songs, and I am busy deciding which Bonnet to wear for my annual Spring Tea Party.
I love to find an excuse to throw a Tea Party and this is one of my favorites. It’s a perfect time to RENEW friendships. I thought I would share lasts years with you for a little inspiration.
Before I send out my invitations, I decide on a theme. This makes it more fun for me to decorate. Last year I chose to do a ‘Mary Poppins’ theme.
Placecards (inside I wrote “you are practically perfect in every way’)
I usually decorate the table the night before and then just add the little details the day of.
I chose bright pinks, yellows, and blues to keep the whole ambience happy and playful.
For the flower arrangements I used pink and gold tiered cake stands. The night before I do my flower arrangements, using fresh flowers that I cut and stick into wet floral foam. The arrangements stay fresh for a good week, just mist them daily.
I just have fun when decorating, making pinwheels, using swirly lollipops, and colorful candy.
I made the pinwheels by using double sided scrapbook paper.
I sprayed painted the bottles and the picture frames (which I bought at the dollar store).
For some extra fun, I hung various teacups from my chandelier as well as tissue pompoms from the ceiling.
The soundtrack from the broadway musical ‘Mary Poppins’ was softly playing in the background.
I usually share a cute picture book after we’re done eating but for this theme I quoted the words from the song “I’m practically perfect in everyway”, and then we all took a turn sharing what makes us ‘unique or practically perfect’. It brought both laughter and tears and truly helped to renew our friendships.
I like to keep my friends as long as possible so we usually end the time by doing a craft together. To keep with the theme, I had a picture frame for each of them and then materials layed out so they could create a message to go inside their frame.
Thank you dear friends for always inspiring me and uplifting my life.
Looking forward to this years Spring Tea.
I’m linking up with Jann over at share your cup thursday, check out some of these great ideas.

If this post doesn’t make a woman smile, then she needs someone to check her pulse. This is so you … we’ll seriously need to see pictures of the next one as well!
Especially your complete outfit!
