Have I mentioned that it’s cold outside? I mean, really, really cold. The dreaded inversion that sets in for 2 or 3 and sometimes 4 weeks here in the Salt Lake Valley has sadly arrived. It’s hard to believe that the sun is shining brightly right above us (just over the smug, smog or yuk, whatever use choose to call it).
Today I decided to change my attitude and simply embrace (readily or gladly welcoming a cause) my surroundings by looking for beauty instead of bleakness. WOW! How come I didn’t think of this solution earlier.
I caught a glimpse of our incredibly beautiful mountain tops through the trees, I saw and heard the laughter of children sledding, I noticed a brightly painted yellow house that simply looked radiant on this kind of day, and an old white church surrounded by our white environment was so peaceful and breathtaking. And, yes, Tori and I also embraced the weather by dressing for the surroundings.
Afterall, isn’t the passport to happiness finding beauty in everyday surroundings?
Fun, and to me you do not look dressed for extreme cold. I would have put more on, I can tell you. You two just look cute.
I love that you could do that. I need to take a page out of your book, all I wanted to do is just be home by the fire and grumble about how cold it is.
We still have the Barbie’s & clothes, lots of 60’s hippy stuff..
By the way, you have the cutest daughter, looks like she could be your sister. I think she resembles her grandma except for that blonde hair.
