Do you ever have those days when you really just want to stay in and wear cozy warm sweat pants and over size cuddly sweaters or sweatshirts, possibly even outfits that resemble pajamas (maybe they even are your pj’s)?
Well, this girl does!!! Especially when the weather is gloomy or when I wake up and know its basically cleaning day or when the most exciting thing on my going out list is the grocery store. Those are the days when I truly contemplate and question, should I waste make-up, should I waste time doing my hair, is it really necessary to put an outfit together?
Let me tell you, there is something remarkable that happens when I give myself that little pep talk and begin putting an outfit together.
An outfit that is stylish yet comfortable and casual. This is what I call my work-from-home-retirement uniform or staple type of dressing.
I usually begin with a pair of comfy jeans or leggings, and then decide on what type of top I’m in the mood for. Since it’s typical fall weather I knew layering would be necessary, therefore I decided on a simple cream blouse which instantly dressed up the jeans, and then threw on a fun lightweight jacket.
I chose flat leopard booties to give it both some pop and comfort for running around.
It’s the best mood lifter ever! And with an outfit together, along comes a bit of makeup and then the hair and before you know it, I’m ready to hit the grocery store, haha. But the best part, after I’m done with the chores, I’m not about to just sit around the house when I’ve put forth some effort to get ready. I can now go grab a friend for lunch, do some fun shopping, go visit someone who needs a helping hand . . . the list goes on and on.
Maybe it’s my age but I do enjoy looking my best whenever I go out and about, even if its just to the grocery store, I guess it could go hand in hand with being refined, right?

I ADORE that jacket on you; it is so beautiful and throwing it on over anything instantly lifts whatever outfit you have on. I like that it is polished, but still a little boho. I usually don’t do much boho because it isn’t my style, but I love this. I always love what you put together. xx

Such a fabulous, casual outfit, Trina! I love your boots! You look great!
And I so know what you mean about the importance of getting dressed and making an effort every day! This quarter I’m only on campus two days a week and it’s sometimes tempting to stay in yoga pants… But my day is a lot more productive and better when I get dressed!

So true! I am at home most days and I do work on the blog in my pjs if I am not going anywhere, but even if I go out for errands I make sure to look “put together”, it does make you feel better! Love the outfit, great booties and that jacket is gorgeous. I love all the detail.
Thanks for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday
