Why do most people blog?
The real answer . . . Ok, there’s too many to even get started. Some blog as an occupation, some blog as a form of journaling, some blog to network their ideas, and then there’s bloggers like myself that just blog for a creative outlet and a way to share some inspiration. And somewhere and somehow along this networking journey you find yourself connecting to others. You find yourself becoming friends with people all over the world. I’ve had the joy and pleasure in actually meeting many in person and in doing so have become lifelong friends.
For me, the best reason and really the reason I continue to blog is the friendships I encounter along the way.
A few weeks ago I noticed that this amazing woman, Shauna @chicover50, whom I following both on instagram and her blog had posted something about living in Salt Lake City, Utah. I immediately sent her a message say something to the effect of “it’s so nice to know I have a fellow 50ish gal who’s crazy about fashion and full of life and joy living so close”. It didn’t take her long to respond and we couldn’t wait to actually meet. It was her idea to meet at our local Anthropologie and that she would love to bring along her camera and take a few photos so she could do a feature of a new friend. Ok, talk about one incredibly kind, genuine, positive, lady! And seriously her instgram feed is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. but it doesn’t come close to the actual beauty and joy that radiates from this tiny little lady.
So the #1 reason I blog is to widen my circle of friends!
These are a few of the photo’s Shauna so gratiously took at our fun meet up. Yes, she is a professional photographer by trade.
Thank you my new friend for making me feel so loved.

That was one of my top reasons for starting a blog, as well. It’s hard to make new friends at this point in life and I had hoped to widen my circle of possibilities. I, too, am huge fan of Shauna’s Instagram. Her photos are amazing and she makes looking stylish look easy.

Does Shauna take her own photos for her blog? I’m so impressed if she does.
So fun you got to meet up and live in the same area!

I like your thinking, and I love your nice look, the hat is perfect for you. The purpose of a blog is a good question. I guess in fashion blogs started by our love of fashion, design and elegance, but as you say, with time, a network of people around the world is created, we wide our vision of people, cultures and ways of thinking. I guess talking about friends is a bit risky, but it is clear that the complicities with others make us much better.

These photos are fantastic. Shauna has really captured your personality here.
Like you, I am in this for connecting to like-minded people. Well, actually sometimes we are not even like-minded but we still hit it off. Blogging is a great way of reaching out. I see it kind of like a great big Show and Tell. I know I was lucky to meet you last summer.
