As all you empty nesters know, there’s definitely some good and some, well I’m not going to go with the word bad, maybe learning or adjusting is more like it. But one of the best part is the freedom of just dropping your normal everyday agenda and traveling. A lot of my traveling is actually to see my children but when I do so, I always try to find some beauty in the surroundings. This particular week finds me, once again, on the magnificent Oregon coast.
Yes, it’s a bit on the chilly side, and yet its just too beautiful to stay indoors. The sound of the crashing waves is so much better than a quiet hotel room or the sound of an awful TV (news) in the background.
Many of you have asked about how I pack for my quick trips. Well, first on my packing list is to always pull of the weather forecast. Then I choose appropriate shoes (one or two) and plan my attire around them. I knew for this quick trip it was going to be cold and rainy so I packed my combat boots, a pair of black rain boots and my black nike free runs, which can be worn for my morning work out and athleasure wear.
I always throw in a few trusty hats, especially for rainy days, no need to worry about your hair on these kind of days.
My attire is far from fancy, but its practical, weather appropriate and comfortable, which enables me to enjoy every single moment of my time away.
And for those of you cute readers that are far from the empty nest stage of life, I’m sure you still travel, at least once in a while. I would love to hear and see where you all go and what makes it into your suitcases.
I’m off to find some other breathtaking views today. Enjoy this wonderful day!
