Ok, Par and I are not building our new home yet, but it’s no secret that sooner or later we will. So when we were invited to attend an event at the new Oakwood Homes showroom, located 204 E. Winchester Street, in Murray, I gladly accepted.
I’ll admit, I was a bit more (actually a lot more) excited than Par about this event, but as soon as we entered the showroom and were warmly greeted by an amazing staff, things changed quickly. Par instantly became engaged in a one-on-one conversation with Mike Stewart, the president of the Utah Division. He took the time to explain the background of this amazing company, which recently acquired another home builder, Henry Walker Homes. They also discussed the many different locations Oakwood Homes has acquired as well as their future locations, which for the two of us is the top priority in building our dream home.
We then set off to tour this massive showroom, did I mention massive? Talk about a one stop shopping center, and seriously all in one building. I was amazed and thrilled to see the vast array of options available all in one location, not to mention top notch quality. You can literally build your dream home right from this showroom.
Just take a look at the tile section . . .
And the lights . . .
And my favorite, the granite and cabinets choices . . .
Par and I even took a few minutes to create a new imaginery kitchen. Yes, my friends, I’m really loving the white maple cabinets and this light granite combined with a walnut wood floor. Quite different from my lovely kitchen I have now, but change is fun, change is good.
Oakwood Homes also provides designers that can help with all your wants, needs, and desires. Two of whom we met that evening, Andrew Nielsen and Holly Keck and let me tell you, they know home design.
One of the highlights of the evening was being catered a delicious meal in the Grotto kitchen, courtesy of Whole Foods, by two of their amazing chefs, Aaron and Jake, (aka the two friendly giants).
Not only did they cook up a dinner of sweet heart steaks with garlic herbed potatoes, pork chops with apple chutney and truffle mashed potatoes, they also took the time to share a cooking demo in the Grotto kitchen featuring crab cakes and parmesan tuiles with heirloom tomato salad.
Does it look as if Par is having a good time?
I’m terribly in love with this Grotto kitchen style.
For those of you who are in the market for a new home, from now through March 31 Oakwood Homes is running a promo. If you purchase a new home, you get the kitchen Grotto or a spa shower, which I will feature next Wednesday, as a free upgrade.
I left this fun and eventful evening knowing that when the time comes, I know who I can turn to to help build my dream home. Oakwood Homes knows how to build and create a house that can be called a home.
Thank you Oakwood Homesand Whole Foods for a wonderful and eventful evening.
