I believe I’ve figured out the magical solution for keeping young. Did you notice I didn’t say, looking young, I’m still trying to figure that solution out, I simply mean acting and feeling young at heart.
Here’s my solution . . .
Just hang out with an infant or a child for a day, even an hour will bring about some of this magic potion. You will find yourself immersed in their way of thinking and acting and loving life.
The last few days I’ve been spending time with Miss Molly (my granddaughter), and I’ve found myself rediscovering some of the simple pleasures and treats of summer-time.
I was overjoyed yesterday while playing at a near by park when I heard the old familiar song coming from an old fashion popsicle truck (I didn’t even realize they were still around). I quickly flagged it down and purchased one for each of us. I don’t know who enjoyed it the most, this 51 year old grandma or Miss Molly.
Either way, I sure felt young while eating it.
Little note on fashion, this is my version of grandma shorts.
What is your version of grandma shorts? And, have you found any magical solutions to feeling young?
I’m heading over to Patti’s for Visible Monday in hopes of seeing some youthful faces.

I can see you enjoyed every moment spent at the park with Miss Molly. You look fabulous, love the bright colors in this outfit.

Oh Trina, you look fit and fabulous! Fresh, vibrant colours on you are so attractive and youthful! I have to agree about being with littles! They sure can make you feel young at heart. I always find riding my bike makes me feel young! I’m not sure what it is, but going downhill with a breeze on my face takes my RIGHT BACK to being a kid!!!
PS Our local ice creams trucks always seem to play the theme song from The Sting. Now, I’ve got that playing in my head, LOL.
trinagrandinetti says
Well Sue, I have to agree with you also, I absolutely love riding my bike and for the exact same reason. Sometimes I find myself giggling to myself on the down heel slopes (probably a good thing I’m by myself).
And the theme song to Sting, now that’s awesome. Hope your enjoying your summer.
Sue @ A Colourful Canvas says
Well, you’ll have to be sure to bring appropriate attire for a bike ride when you visit!
trinagrandinetti says
Wonderful idea! Is it easy to rent bikes around there?
Sue @ A Colourful Canvas says
Absolutely!

I had a popsicle three days ago. Gift from my cobbler (he had them in his freezer). Not the same as a popsicle truck in the park, but I will make do haha.
Staying young at heart? No idea how I do that. By laughing a lot? Spending lots of time with younger people? (= work)
Little time to spend with children as I have none, so no grandchildren either. I have my hopes on my stepdaughter though.
Looking very lovely in that colourful top. Just the right skirt for this event and again, I love your sandals.
Too bad you did not include a picture of Molly with her popsicle.

Great idea to keep a freezer stocked with popsicles for customers, even a fun idea to have at home for friends. Totally agree with you, why didn’t I post a picture of Molly and her popsicle, I definitely will do that. Do you have instagram?
Also, it is quite obvious you are young at heart, you have a lot of fun in life.
nofearoffashion says
I do have Instagram but never use it….. all these platforms. Sometimes it is just too much.
Otherwise you email it to me??

I wish I could capture the spirit of a child and sell it. I would make billions! Love the outfit with the perfect red popsicle. Was that on purpose? It works!
trinagrandinetti says
Isn’t that the truth (capturing the spirit of a child)? Red popsicle . . . not on purpose, it was strawberry flavored and sounded so good, but it did work well for a fun photo.
Mary Murnane says
Thanks for making me smile, Trina 🙂 Love your fresh summer style and your outlook on life!
trinagrandinetti says
Always such a compliment when you know we can make others smile.

You look young and like you are having a ball. I am having major grandma envy. I am older than you and still waiting..:(
I agree being around wee ones lifts my spirits. I I adore children.
My solution to shorts it to wear capris and denims to the knee, and skirts galore!
Happy week my friend!

So pretty … you have to be the most glam Grandma in your world!
Dan and I had an outdoor wedding, and just when all grew quiet right before the vows were spoken, an ice cream truck came down our street playing that merry tune. What a nice treat for us all!

Trina I love your outfit! The skirt and shoes are so cute and what a perfect necklace. Time is precious and you are so smart to enjoy summer and the simple pleasures like a popsicle. I am trying to do the same! xo Kim
