This month for Jill and Adrienne’sHIWM, it was all about sneakers. I decided it was time to share how I really do wear my sneakers, and I’m not talking about my running shoes (they are for running and working out and in my opinion best kept on the road and in the gym). We’re talking about the trend this season with all the great colors and styles of sneakers, which can be worn in a multiple of ways.
During the warm spring weather and the hot summer months here in Utah, I tend to spend most my days in cool summer dresses or skirts, therefore; it just seemed a natural choice to pair them with sneakers.
This easy-to-throw on dress from the Gap would be great paired with some fun sandals, but seriously, how fun is this floral hat with it? And, that’s when the ensemble said “it’s a sneakers kind of day”.
Dress: Gap (new), Shoes: vans (new), Hat: hyp hat (old)
Now when the day calls for a panama hat and stylish tee, which you could easily pair with some jeans, but for a more stylish look simply pair them with a maxi skirt.
And why not add that fun element of surprise and edge to it by throwing on a pair of converse?
It made for the perfect date-night ensemble.
Panama hat: jcrew, Skirt: nordstorm, Tee: Banana republic, Converse: Nordstrom also at DSW, Necklace: tiffany’s
So how are you wearing your sneakers this season?
For more lots of sneaker inspiration head on over to Jill’s or Adrienne’s for some great ideas.
I also did some ‘kedding” around last summer in here and here.

I too have been wearing sneakers for Spring. Mine are floral black and white keds… Wearing them today in fact… won’t post those pics until tomorrow on my blog… I love both of these outfits , casual and comfortable.

Floral black and white??? Those sound fantastic. Can’t wait to see them.

I think you rock the sneakers with style and grace, Trina. I only have one pair, and you’re inspiring me to get them out of the closet. xox
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Patti, I’m thinking you should run right over to your closet, you won’t regret it.

Badass and just too cool! You make it look so easy, Trina, but you never, ever look dumpy no matter how casual your outfit.

You always make me laugh, just drop by some morning while I’m gardening then you will see Dumpy Trina to the max.

Terrific combinations. Sneakers are slowly creeping back into my wardrobe but having a very low instep (say flat feet) they often do not look nice. They do look nice on you though. Both outfits look equally great in my opinion. Well done Trina.

Thank you. Too bad about your low instep because with your looooong beautiful legs you could definitely rock the sneaker look.

Both outfits are awesome but how sexy chic is that 2nd outfit! I love both of these sneakers….we need to trade when you get tired of them.

I loved this post on Adrienne’s and actually left a comment there yesterday that your mint Converse were one of my favorite pairs! It’s so fun how you all collaborate on these posts and your whole outfit is so stylish and chic from head to toe. Beautiful

Trina. I love your mint Converse, especially with that chic Paris tee and black skirt. I also loved the blue sneakers from the first outfit, but must admit I am not a natural fan of sneakers in general. Still, I do like this trend, and love these on you.
For myself , I think I want a sneaker with a low but level flatform look. Since I am vertically challenged ! I love the chucks, and can’t wait to go sneaker shopping, but don’t know what I will end up with !
Great post topic, and curious how others respond,
I did love wearing my hidden platform sneakers with my skirt a while back. How does a girly girl work some serious sneaker looks into her wardrobe ? You are a great inspiration !
I also love some floral and patterns ..

I so loved your post with your hidden platform sneakers. Where you live and all the walking you do, I would definitely be adding the sneaker look to my wardrobe. If anyone will come up with some unique and stylish ways of wearing this trend, it will be you. Can’t wait to see what you will do with this trend.

I have a pair of sneakers, but have never worn them. You are my inspiration to do so. Your look chic and stylish in both ensembles. Love your headwear!
