SPONTANEOUS: unplanned . . .
unpremeditated . . .
implusive . . .
impromtu . . .
unforced . . .
However you choose to use this extraordinary word,
it all boils down to one thing . . .
ENJOYMENT . . . PURE ENJOYMENT
I have not always been a spontaneous sort of gal,
especially during the years of raising a family or
having to show up to a classroom full of students
but as I try to accept my new role as an empty-nester
SPONANEITY is finding its way into my life. . .
And oh, what JOY it brings.
Take for example . . .
*Thurdsday evening weather forecast for the upcoming weekend was cloudy, snowing, and gloomy
*Email notice from Delta same evening showing great deals for round trip airfare to sunny San Diego
*Noticing my son just happens to be playing in the SoCal area for the weekend.
*Text message to hubby with these details (I was actually just dreaming)
*Friday morning waking up to a text message from hubby informing me our flight would be leaving at 8:00 the next morning.
And why not . . .
PLANT MY FEET ON SOME SUNNY SANDY BEACH . . .
AND TAKE IN SOME GORGEOUS BLUE OCEAN SKY . . .
AND MEET UP WITH MY BOY (that I haven’t seen for 3 months)
DOING WHAT HE LOVES TO DO
AND THEN, MY FRIENDS . . .
HAVING THIS ALL TOPPED OFF WITH THE
SPONTANEOUS DINNER INVITATION
AT THE HOME OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE BLOGGER FRIENDS . . .
AND LET ME TELL YOU, SHE IS EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON . . .
SHE AND HER HUSBAND JEFF GRATIOUSLY HOSTED A WONDERFUL EVENING
ONE THAT MAKES BEING SPONTANEOUS . . .
EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS MEANT TO BE . . .
As Jane Austin put it, “Why not seize the pleasure at once? How often is happiness destroyed by preparations, foolish preparations?”
As always, my friends, thanks for dropping by. Have wonderful day . . . and maybe spice it up with a little spontaneity.
*Note on photo of Tamera and myself
(I sure hope Tamera doesn’t mind this iphone photo showing up, its not the best quality)
*Just a little side note: I purchased this merino boyfriend sweater from crew along with a few other colors due to the flexibility of wear and travel comfort and ease. It’s warm, yet light weight, quite wrinkle free and can easily be layered under and over, then easily accessorized with a scarf.
I’m not being all that visible this Monday, but it’s still worth linking with Patti for visible Monday.
