Saying goodbye to summer . . .
is waking up to the feel of crisp morning air
is the smell of leaves as they lie on the ground
is the baking of peach cobblers
and the quietness that surrounds the neighborhood as children return to school.
With mother nature keeping our temperatures high above normal, the FEEL of Autumn is yet to arrive . . .
BUT . . .
the “SEEING” of FALL is all around me . . .
LIKE . . .
ACORNS FALLING FROM THE TREES
AND THE SQUIRRELS GATHERING THEM FOR WINTER
MY GARDEN ANGEL CONTEMPLATING THIS ARRIVAL
THE PRAYING MANTIS THAT ARRIVES YEARLY
THE HAWK MOTHS GETTING THEIR LAST SUMMER MEAL
PUMPKINS HANGING ON THEIR VINES
And the Fall colors and decorations that enhance the indoors
LIKE MY FALL TEA-POTS
THE SMELL OF AUTUMN ENRICHING THE HOME
So until the FEEl of Autumn fills the air,
I will simply go on enjoying my early mornings outside
as well as my afternoons
and evenings . . .
