Hope you’re not tired of Maxi’s because I’m not.
I’ve been finding myself traveling more and more lately
Not on long vacations
just little two and three day get-a-ways.
And this little piece has become my TRAVEL MAXI
It’s light weight . . . wrinkle free . . . and versatile
You simply throw on a fun printed tee
grab a jacket (just in case) and off you go.
The next day, change into a plain white tee
grab a white linen long sleeve for your jacket.
Perfect weekend get-a-way outfit
Here’s a few travel items I throw in my handbag to make my flight more enjoyable.
* ipod and headphones * Ipad for reading and play * treats: granola bars, dried fruit, and water
*scarf (this one is from lululemon) I use it as a blanket and a scarf during my vacation
*travel pillow * fuzzy socks (don’t laugh, I think the floor of the planes are cold and these make my flight very enjoyable). I simply remove my shoes and pull on my fuzzy cozy socks during the flight.
Do you have a favorite travel ensemble or travel tips? I sure would love to hear or see them.
I’m now heading over to Patti’s for Visible Monday, come and join me.

Thanks Lauren, I also enjoyed visiting your cute blog.

What a great skirt for travel, and any day, Trina. Love the idea of travel socks! Thanks for linking up to Visible Monday.
trinagrandinetti says
Patti, just make sure you buy some fun polka dot socks (jk).

Great travel tips and I love your maxi. The blues are beautiful on you. I did a knee length knit dress last time I flew. Wore it there and home again. Super comfy. I have to have goodies too, to make myself comfortable. I’m like the friend who said, “I still carry a diaper bag, but now it’s for me!” Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com
trinagrandinetti says
Seriously, I’m definitely that friend, I don’t go any where without a purse full of treats. Not, a happy camper when I get hungry.
tamerabeardsley says
You look gorgeous as always my dear! I want to remember your fuzzy sock tip!
trinagrandinetti says
Yep, you will love it. But as I told Patti, it’s more fun if they’re stiped and polka dots.
josepmbadia says
I love your travel maxi is beautiful and you look gorgeous. I really like the color and how you combine with your shirts and your jeans jacket. I like it when you wear white shirt knotted at the waist. The bag and the sandals are very pretty. And whenever you look good with your hats. A look comfortable and stylish for travel, I like.
trinagrandinetti says
I, too, am loving the knotted white shirt these days. Now I just need to plan my next fun get away.
Desiree says
Ooooh I do love your maxi and I can imagine tucking my legs up, encased in the fabric for those chilly flights … yes I get cold on planes too.
trinagrandinetti says
Desiree, that’s exactly what I do, tuck my legs right up in my skirts.
Lady of Style says
Love the maxi skirt with the white shirt and accessories, Trina. Kind of obsessed with knotted shirts at moment. Such a relaxed yet stylish look!
Your bag is awesome too.
I always take my big beige Pashmina shawl wherever I go. It is cosy (airplane, evenings) and the neutral colour works with almost every outfit.

trinagrandinetti says
Pashmina is a wonderful idea as well.
Lynn says
Maxi skirts are great for travel, especially for very early morning or late night flights; they are like socially acceptable pajamas!
trinagrandinetti says
You said it perfectly!
Dawn Elliott says
I never know what to wear with stripes, but you did it perfectly! I love the top in the first pictures…the whole ensemble works beautifully! Quick, easy, and chic!
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Dawn. I love the fun challenge of mixing items with stripes, I just go through my closet and see what items have the same color hues.
Jean at Dross into Gold says
I see why this is your favorite. I would wear it constantly too. I have a black and white striped maxi skirt that amazes me with it’s versatility. I love the way you’ve styled it in different ways. Your hat and shoes are the perfect accessories; I’d wear them to death too!!!!
trinagrandinetti says
I love your black and white maxi, I would be wearing that one to death also.
trinagrandinetti says
I love your black and white mazi, I would be wearing that to death also.
Crystal says
Love the long skirts, Trina. I have three that I bought last spring and I’m rotating them a lot this summer. Yours are so lovely. Love the brilliant pattern T you are wearing here, too.
Whether I’ll wear something long sort of depends on where I’m traveling: streets of Chicago, no; Raleigh Durham headed toward the beach, yes.
My formula for travel in the summer is always having a jacket or sweater because I freeze to death from all the air conditioning! And lots of water…because I get so dehydrated when I fly. As always, you’re looking gorgeous.
trinagrandinetti says
Isn’t that the truth when it comes to air conditioning, I find myself carrying a jacket everywhere for this reason. I would love to be heading to Raleigh right now.
Spashionista says
Trina, stop looking so fabulous immediately! You’re making the rest of us look bad ;-P
What I love is how effortlessly beautiful this is on you. Jetset chic at it’s best!
If I don’t have my own pillow and a set of earplugs I may hurt someone!
Alicia
trinagrandinetti says
Well, are you not just the sweetest? Great boost to a gal’s self esteem. Love your comment on the pillow and earplugs, haha.
The Style Crone says
I never tire of maxis! And this chic number with the addition of the geometric or white tee could take you anywhere.
I’m going to remember the fuzzy socks tip the next time I travel!
trinagrandinetti says
Yes, those fuzzy socks are just the best!
Jan Graham-McMillen says
Who could tire of a maxi that looks like that on you! I don’t wear them much … just haven’t met the right maxi, I guess. But you look great … too bad to ever have to cover that blue top with even a cute jacket! You stay safe in your travels and enjoy!
trinagrandinetti says
I hear ya with the jacket, dang over air-conditioned buildings.
woodlucker says
I think a maxi looks great on you and as others have said we love them on you! You are great at mixing graphic patterns and I agree with Annette your bag is a beauty. I love how you are using white as a bold accent. Hope you are having a fun trip!

Hey Trina! You look like you are enjoying summer! I love seeing your outfit posts, and your lifestyle posts…all sprinkled with joy and colour! This maxi skirt is adorable on you. I haven’t worn a maxi yet this season, but must give it a try. {Also absolutely covet your handbag!}

Looks as if you are enjoying your summer (finally) also. Can’t wait to see a mazi on you and your picnic ideas. I actually picked up my fun handbag last year in Italy (such great prices on their handbags.
No fear of fashion says
Sorry I am so late with commenting. Everybody before me has said it all. You look so nice and relaxed in this maxi skirt. I like it with the blue printed shirt and the white shirt and the knotted blouse. With the jeans jacket, although still cute, I lose your waist. And that is such a great feature. Of course your sandals are fabulous. Again. And I want THE BAG. Tell me the details so I can copy you.
Oh and I don’t travel on airplanes very far usually. So I just wear what I am going to wear that day. Usually something that doesn’t crease and is not cutting me in half.

By the way… did you see that orange printed maxi dress of Emer? Over at 40plusstyle.com? In the dress challenge? Gorgeous.
trinagrandinetti says
My fun handbag I bought in Italy last year. I was amazed at the great quality and prices of their handbags (and shoes, of course).
I will have to remember my waist as a feature (haha).
trinagrandinetti says
I totally forgot abouth that dress challenge, thank you for reminding me. Wow, what fun dresses all you ladies came up with and yes, Emer’s orange maxi is lovely as well as fun.
No fear of fashion says
Bummer… wish I could order that bag. Oh well, there will undoubtably be others. LOL.

Kathleen, hats do put a smile on our faces, dont’ they?

Hello!
I love your site, and I adore the skirt. it is casual and elegant AT THE SAME TIME. I especially love it styed with the crisp white sirt, but also love the pattern mixing. Sitting is so much easier i a maxi; I have a white cotton one that I have been practically living in.
