E.B. White was right on the money when he wrote this.
Seeing a city from the top of a Ferris Wheel gives you a whole new perspective.
The buildings take on a glimmer instead of a towering influence.
The blue of of River goes for miles on end.
Excellent way to put your feet up and breath in the entire city.
See the difference on solid ground?
*NOTE* Since I was in the city of Chicago I decided to take a drive down memory lane
and visit the home my grandfather was raised in
. . . I was in for a surprise. . .
Isn’t this 103 year old home just lovely?
I think I’m right at home
(yes, I did ask permission to take photos).
As always, thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful day!

What a lovely house. But you will never catch me in one of those big wheels. Believe it or not but I even got sick on the swing at a childrens playground when I was 6 years old. Something to do with balance trouble.
Beautiful sandals…. that collection of yours…. yummie. Nice touch, those yellow toe nails.

You poor soul, never being able to enjoy the trill of crazy rides, haha. I don’t do too well with the wild and crazy rollercoasters now that I’m older, dang.

Love it so much my sweet daughter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the pictures, so many memories of being there as a child as we went to see my grandmother, (your great) and all my aunts and uncles. We would take our picnic basket and walk to the beaches of Lake Michigan, remind me to give you some pics of this. What a lovely neighborhood Highland Park is and this lovely home that my grandfather had built in 1908 for his family of than five but ended up being a family of twelve. Seven of the ten children were born right there in that house.

Weel, from the looks of it (quite a roomy-extrememly large) home, they could all fit very comfortably in this home. And, the yard, WOW!

That most beautiful house and a beautiful city. You look great with this outfit, love the denim dress, a scarf, and I look fantastic your feet in your shoes, that nails!

Thank you Josep-Maria, it was the highlight of my little get away, being able to walk the grounds of ancestors. It appears you are walking on some beautiful grounds lately also, where are you traveling (hiking)?
josepmbadia says
If, Trina, hiking is my passion. This weekend I walked through the canyons and ravines of northern Aragon and during my vacation I will walk through the Basque Country. Spain has many beautiful landscapes and in the mountains I feel free and happy. You will see my photos on Instagram. By the way, I can not see yours, are private?
trinagrandinetti says
Perfect passion to have, you get the exercise and the added bonus of spectacular scenery. I thoroughly enjoy seeing your photos on instagram. Yes, I am private and I added you this morning.

Thanks Trina.

This post reminds me that a few years ago I went to a family reunion on my dad’s side of the family. I saw the house that my great-grandfather lived in, which was an extraordinary experience. All of a sudden, history comes alive and we can imagine those times. You look so great in your denim dress, flowing headscarf, and yellow pedicure!! As for the ferris wheel? I’ll pass, thank you. They make me sea sick. 🙂

Yes, you pinned it right on the head. History just comes alive. I was so glad I took the time to drive out there.
