Maybe it was the extra Vitamin D the sun gave me on my morning run
or
Maybe it was just the way it brightened my surroundings
either way . . . there is definitely some sunshine in my soul today.
And with that feeling I knew I had to
“color my thoughts with only the brightest hues.”
This was the perfect opportunity to try out the floral trend or flower power. Just recently I commented on Sylvia’s blog that I would most likely keep this trend to shoes. That was, until I laid eyes on this blouse (jcrew on sale) and it just made me happy.
I can wear it ‘Trina Style’ with the brightest hues and just fun written on it.
Or I can tone it down for a work outfit.
Or I can wear it on a Saturday when its just time to kick back and enjoy.
How are you coloring your thoughts? Are you expressing them from the inside out? And, are you sharing these colorful thoughts with others?
Thank you so much for dropping by, have a wonderful weekend! GO CELEBRATE WITH SOME OPTIMISIM TODAY. . . put a little sunshine in your soul. 🙂

Love your flower power Trina! And with seersucker pants and pink shoes! Triple fun. Your expression, Color my thoughts with the brightest of hues, is so cheery. You know, I think when I dress in cheery colours and prints, that I am expressing my emotions in a positive way.
Okay, inquiring minds want to know. How far, and how often, do you run? I feel like you are my personal coach.

Sue, there have been many many days when I pull up your blog just to feel from the positive energy you show, both through your expression and the way you dress.
As to your inquiring mind (and I’m laughing a bit about this because I’m far from being a personal coach) but this is more or less my work out schedule: Mondays- I run 3 miles and then fast walk 1 mile, I’m still a strong believer on the great benefits of fast walking. For strength training I work my biceps on this day with free weights. I do sets of 15 of each work out. This usually last 10-15 minutes and then I end tummy tucks using weights.
Tuesdays: I either bike outside (10 miles) or go to a spin class. Then I do 3-sets of 25 lunges. For strength I do 3 sets of 25 pushups and
inbetween I do 1 minute sit ups (by the last set I’m completely done).
Wed: Run 5 miles and strength I work with resistant bands (I love these)
Thursday: Bike 10-miles or spin class and strength I work my triceps with free weights. Tummy I use a the big ball this day.
Friday: Run 3-5 miles depending on how I feel and then I take this day off from lifting. I do end with 3- one minutes sit-ups.
Saturdays: I usually go to a combat class for the variety.
Sundays: NOTHING
Wish we lived by one another, it would be a blast to have a work out partner.
Did this help at all? And, by the way, I think you look fabulous!

Beautiful and uplifting post … and I must add …. you styled that blouse to perfection! My favorite style posts to see, are the ones that use the same piece, several ways … you nailed this one! Kudos my dear!
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you, quite a compliment coming from you, my dear. In my mind, you are the queen of assembling outfits using the same piece.

Oh my goodness, you’re getting some mileage out of that blouse, Trina. That’s the kind of blouse I need for my tiny house dream–because it goes with so many things. It reminds me of my weekend plans: I’m going to a master gardener’s show tomorrow to buy plants. It’s time to spruce things up in the yard! Have a beautiful weekend. P.S. I have a pair of seersucker shorts just that color!

Thank you Annette, I’m still trying to figure out how you make your simplicity so elegant. I’ve always been a very colorful, patterned kind of dresser, I just hope it continues to work for me now that I’m in my 50’s 🙂

I love the floral with seersucker! Such a great pattern mix. And those neon ballets are great!
You should be the spokesmodel for springtime!

What can I add that has not been said? Nothing really. I agree with everybody. This is such a good buy and you are so good at mixing colours and patterns. I like all your combinations. That work outfit gets such a boost by the blouse and the shoes.
And now I know your secret to such a great body…. what an exercise !! I take my hat off.
nofearoffashion says
I shamelessly tried to copy you by buying this beautiful blouse. They only had up to size 2 left hahaha. Not really me. Bummer.
trinagrandinetti says
No shame what so ever. You would look incredibly darling in this blouse. I do know that jcrew has what is called a finder’s or locator’s option for you. If you get them on the phone, they will hunt for the item in all their stores and then send you a notice if they locate the item for you. (if you still want it).
Citizen Rosebud (@citizenrosebudz) says
You win! I love the floral and seersucker- LOVE. And the play outfit the post after is awesome- all incarnations are playful.
trinagrandinetti says
Thank you Bella, I do love mixing up the patterns, but you are still the Queen of pattern mixing.
