I’ve come to the realization that the color green is just that, lovely. It can symbolize life, nature, fertility, well being, growth, harmony, safety, and balance, but simply put, its lovely. And maybe those are the reasons I enjoy wearing it.
Now, I’m no fashionista expert but sometimes I get things right, and this time the balance seemed to be right on (possibly because of the green). Here’s a few tips I’ve learned that work for balance.
1. Mix different textures of material: here I mixed a heavier doubled layered cotton and eyelet skirt with a soft silk blouse.
2. Mix tight fit with looser fit: here the pencil skirt is tight and the blouse is loose.
3. Belt only when it adds to the ensemble as an accessory.
4. Find an element of surprise to balance or offset the ensemble just a bit. I usually do this with my shoes. Instead of thinking matchy, matchy and wearing a pair of green shoes, or cream, I choose tangerine (surprise).
Since my ‘Green’ theme has come to the end I’ll leave you with some other fun facts.
*Green occupies more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye and is second only to blue as a favorite color.
*Green is the pervasive color in the natural world that is an ideal backdrop in interior design because we are so used to seeing it everywhere.
The color green affects us physically and mentally by:
*Relaxing mentally as well as physically
*Helps alleviate depression, nervousness and anxiety
*Offers a sense of renewel, self-control and harmony
So, if you feel a need for change or growth, a new state of balance, or the freedom to pursue new ideas, go add some green to your life!
Have a most wonderful day and weekend.
