Remember the picture I shared of my garage full of Christmas decorations and hinting that I had my husband well trained, well this is how it all began.
We were married on the 3rd of December (quite a few years ago) but we were not scheduled to leave on our honeymoon until December 6th. The morning after our wedding I opened a few cards at the hotel and many of them were filled with gift cards to the local department store. It just happened to be the store right across the street. I casually suggested we take a quick trip and see what they have. As I walked into this beautifully decorated store I was overcome with the Christmas spirit. Without a second thought I began filling a bag full of decorations for a Christmas tree and my cute hubby just went along for the ride. I’m sure he thought I was crazy but bless his dear little heart, he let me spend every last dollar on Christmas decorations. He then followed my lead as I suggested we now go buy a tree and start decorating. So by the night of December 5th we had our very first beautifully decorated Christmas tree and then the next morning we flew to Hawaii. Well nobody told me I had to water the dang tree. Yep, we arrived back home to one completely dead tree. Husband is really, really nice but I was smart enough to NOT ask for another tree that year.
*lesson learned–first and last year I ever had a real tree.
